Sorry, but as of 1:30 on Saturday my ride is FULL!
Today's Ride honors Elaine Sullivan a long time member of SBRA who passed away last year. Elaine rode with me on many, many rides over the years, and she will be missed forever.
My ride is leaving at 9 AM and will be an easy C ride around Center Moriches, with some very nice water views along the way. We will average 11.5 - 12 and we will be taking our break at Nettie's. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc.
I usually decide the route as we go along, so there is no cue sheet.
If you are interested, there is a lunch event after the ride. Please look at Joanna's ride posting for details and instructions.
MEETING LOCATION: straight back from Wendy's and Dunkin Donuts, on the EAST SIDE of the shopping center.
Riders should arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
Elaine was on the first SBRA ride I ever attended, in spring of 1988, and the next year I did my first century with her and the Goykins. A few days later, Elaine gave all of the riders in our group an L.A.W. Century patch. Of course, I want to be celebrating Elaine with the group.
Let's travel south to north, stopping at Bean and Bagel for a short coffee break before our return. 15 miles out, 13 back, definitely rolling, we'll ride at a low- to mid-C+ to keep the group together.
We will start our ride at 9:15sharp. Feel free to text with any questions. My cell: 631-835-1454.

Ok, so the ride for Elaine will be a short 20-23 miles at road speeds between 14.5 and 16.0. Why so slow you ask - well Chris and I haven't been riding for a wee bit and we just returned from another Asian jaunt on the 25th. So, if you want to pull us along it would help. The route will be going out to Hampton Bays with a stop at the Beach Bakery. We will just have dessert first and lunch later. Talking about lunch, just keep reading to the end. Oh, about the average; probably somewhere around, ah, who knows, just come and enjoy the roses!
