Reststop will be Horton Lighthouse. Bring your own snack for this stop.
Several gulp and goes.
The start is again the lot on the cornor of Roanoke and 3rd Street. This lot is just south of the Riverhead firehouse and across the street from the NEW town hall parking lot.
Adding a few miles to go around 3/4 of Lake Panamoka with its short rollers. We'll dismount to exit the lake road and get back on the usual route to Panera Bread in Riverhead. A few other changes to the typical route: a new quick break point after Edwards Ave and also exiting Panera in a safer manner, can be exprected.
We will be doing a scenic ride through Eastport, Remsenburg and Westhampton Beach. The average pace will be between 14.5 and 15.0 mph. +/- depending on the wind, road conditions, geese, ducks, squirrels, and rabbits. Road speed will be between 15 & 16.5mph. Pulling is always appreciated. You know the drill.
There will be a short break-a-way along Dune Road; we will not be going to the big bridge. If its too windy on Dune Road the ride will be cut short by 2 miles.
Around mile 25 we’ll stop at the Beach Bakery for some goodies and a bathroom break before heading back to the start.

NOTE the 9:00 AM start at the lot across from The Maples! We're starting a little later, to allow the temperature to warm-up. Due to cooler conditions, we'll do this at around a B/B+ pace...and this will be paceline ride.
This time around it will be a new more scenic loop with some rolling terrain. It starts with a taste of Mill Road and Hot Water Street Street, to get those legs warmed-up. Then we'll do the descent past The Shrine, before we do part of Old Country Road and head down through Remsenberg to Westhampton Beach.
After a quick rest stop in Westhampton Beach (WHB), we head out to Quogue and pick up a piece of Dune Road. We'll then loop back through WHB with a bakery option, before we head up the Casa Basso and back through Eastport to the Manorville finish.
It's been a while. we will take a nice easy ride down the trails all the way to the Babylon town docks. Rest rooms in the park and at the docks. Bring lights if you have them. It gets a little bit darker in the woods first. We will meet to the left of the park entrance. Bring a snck,we will take a quick break at the docks
Quick stops at the beaches as we get in some hills. We'll be a bit slower up hill and quicker down and will be patient if you're slower. Lights are strongly reccomended (just in case). Park in the rear of the lot across from Little Vincents. Join us for a slice after the ride (Cash Only)
