This will be the usual ride to Mc Donalds in Manorville where we will enjoy some refreshments.
The road speed will be the same as what we have been doing between 15-18, we should average between 15.5-15.9 depending of course on weather and wind conditions.
Assistance in pulling is greatly appreciated.
Please check morning of ride for cancellations. If I need to cancel the ride I will post it by 7am.
This C+ ride of 18-25 miles will average 12-13mph. Bring snack/hydration as route depends on wind, tide, position of moon and ride leaders disposition. Newbies welcome and well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 8:00am. No need to text, email, phone, send message by carrier pidgeon or smoke signal me. Just show up 20 minutes before ride start to get your s**t together.
Starting from the LIRR which is north of Westhampton Beach - park in the area to the right (east) side of the station.
We travel to the end of Dune rd, over the high bridge (walking allowed) and up into Hubbard County park before returning via Quogue wildlife park. A very scenic low to mid B- ride. Very varied terrain, there are some long flat sections (Dune rd) and some scenic rolling hills (Hubbard park).
There are plenty of bathroom breaks but no official snack shop so bring sufficient nutrition and hydration - if we spot a nice looking cafe we can stop, otherwise it will be at a 'pretty' place.
Casual ride east from the eastern most part of lot 5. Plan on riding hard pack by the shore as well as some paths and boardwalks in the towns. Loose agenda, and a sightseeing pace. Please text me if you plan to join.
