It's Good To Have Cycling Friends ....

And it's easier to report that someone has been hurt when it's me! First, forget the rumor that I was texting! :) It's true that my cell phone initiated a chain of event that resulted in me going down on Middle Road but I wasn't using it at the time. Ron G. came back to pull me up to the group after I picked up my cell phone (the "Stupid Attack" I had, was reaching for it in the first place!). When we reached the sharp left turn between Bayport & Blue Point (my phone was in my pocket), my front wheel touched Ron's rear wheel and I found myself inspecting the asphalt.
Result: cracked helmet, beatup brake/shift levers and road rash and so far only very sore bone/muscle type pain. Have to thank those that stopped and were prepared to help, especially Linda and Karen (thankfully sagging in the area I went down) and Jack "Big Gear" (aka "Boots"). Also thanks, in general to all the Sag Wagon folks for the job they do ... .

Also, thanks to all my friends who have shown their concern ... I didn't mean to be such a good demonstration of how we respond as a community but its wonderful to have such caring friends. If my condition does not get better soon, you can be sure I'll post any changes, otherwise I look forward to seeing you on the road.

Last but not least ... posting info about an accident is a way for folks to learn ... hope you learn from my mistake.

Congrats to thioe that did the 100 miles and more then ever: Ride Safely,
    Norm
