the new SBRA ride level Classification System

Why did the SBRA board revise the S BRA ride classification system. I supported former President Dan's ride classification System because I believed it worked. I liked the idea of defining the Pluses and minuses of each ride pace level. I liked having the choice of being able to choice between the Cruising pace or the average speed. WE had a system that worked for my C+ group. I believe the C , C- and D level riders were happy with Dans system.

I know there were problems with the B to B+ to A- rides. Pace pushers seem to push the pace and hijack the rides from the ride leaders on some rides. I Know there are exceptions and the B group has a few good ride leaders. Changing the Ride Classification System will not solve there problems. Example, if we were to move the B level average sped from from 14.1 to 16 to 15,1 to 17.1 to occomadate the faster riders in that group. Maybe some rider will push the pace up to 18.2.

SBRA has been revising the ride pace level structure up over the years to reflect the speed that most riders in that group are actually doing. This has not solved any complaints so far. The same thing happens under the new ride system. The A group and the A+ and the Early Birds seem happy with this system and they seem to keep to be able to work any problems out among themselves.
