    Savannah GA Update

HI Guys I miss my fellow bikers in SBRA. THE Weather down South has been hot and humid. The high temp has been in the mid humid 90s with no to little wind. The heat index has been up near 100F. IT rains and thunders often in the afternoon and the evenings. The current temp is 88F with the heat index at 100F and the humidity at 75 percent

I finally found and joined a bike club in Savannah GA. I road on Skid away Island on a 30 mile C S which stands for C social ride. The club is called the Coastal Bicycle Touring CLUB or the CBTC I went on the landings ride and we road about 30 miles. WE had about 18 riders and we broke up the ride into 3 groups . The faster riders went ahead and the slower riders stayed together in the back. I was in the middle group. WE ate lunch at the end of the ride at the Ba HI which is in the village in Skid away Island.

In the CBTC all of the level rides start at the same location. They have a few different ride pace levels. The A Fast 18 to 21 MPH with an 18+ average speed. THE B level is Moderately Fast 14 to 19 MPH with an average speed of 15 + MPH. The C Intermediate 10 to 14 MPH. Last but not least is the S or Social 12 to 14 MPH ride. This ride is totally structured with several pit stops. .

The CBTC is a touring club. I think there are about 100 members. This club is smaller then SBRA. Most of there rides meet out of places in Downtown Savannah. I live on Skid away island which is a suburb on Savannah. IT is about 35 minutes by car to downtown Savannah. Some of there rides meet in Upstate GA. there towns that would be a good commute by car. I do not know where half of there places are. The club rides only meets on Skid away Island maybe once every month or two.
