    Shelter Island House Tour this Saturday, July 13

    Hi all,
    Jackie here, the newest member on Shelter Island. I'll be leading a tour of the Historical Society's biennial House Tour. 5 fabulous homes will be open to the public.

    Saturday, July 13, 2013 2:00pm to 5:00pm: Shelter Island House Tour
    The Shelter Island Historical Society presents "Water and Woods," a tour of contemporary and historic homes.
    The tour features "Clearhouse," a glass and steel minimalist masterpiece which cantilevers over treetops to offer panoramic views of Peconic Bay. Several other contemporary homes integrate innovative design and use large expanses of glass to give a feeling of light and space. Complementing the modernist architecture, a classic 1880 Colonial Revival overlooks Dering Harbor and provides a glimpse of an earlier era.

    The tour begins at the Havens House Museum at 16 South Ferry Road (Route 114), where visitors will receive a map and brochure. Tickets are $40.00 (tax-deductible). Meet me there at 1:45.

    Afterwards there will be a private party for bikers only with snacks & a swimming pool to cool off. Email me if you have questions & to rsvp:
