Join your fellow SBRA Members for another Century Ride ...

Perhaps you had so much fun doing the Swiezy / Pope Memorial Montauk Railroad Century, maybe you had to miss it, or it could be you don’t want all the training you’ve done be for just one ride and are looking to try another century before the heat of summer sets in.

This will be a Century from Eastport to Orient. There will be a few different ride leaders posting rides for this century.
Check the Ride Calendar and the individual rides for more details. The route will be similar to the fall century with some modifications. Cue sheets and GPS files may be provided by the ride leaders.

All riders are expected to be self-sufficient and carry the necessary equipment in case of break downs, as well as nutrition and hydration, since there will be no SAG vehicles.

Most groups will have multiple very short stop opportunities with a longer break in Orient and for lunch in Cutchogue. Some of these breaks may provide an opportunity to buy additional water if needed.

Perhaps you had so much fun doing the Swiezy/Pope Memorial Century, maybe you had to miss it, or it could be you don’t want all the training you’ve done be for just one ride and are looking to try another century before the heat of summer sets in. This will be a century from Eastport to Orient. I will be leading a slow B/B+ and perhaps additional ride leaders will offer rides at slower and faster paces. The route will be similar to the fall century with some modifications. I will be happy to give cue sheets and the Ride w/GPS file to anyone who wants them.

All riders are expected to be self-sufficient and carry the necessary equipment in case of break downs, as well as nutrition and hydration, since there will be no SAG vehicles.

My group will have multiple very short stop opportunities with a longer break in Orient and for lunch in Cutchogue. Some of these breaks will provide an opportunity to buy additional water if needed. While my will be an unstructured ride, I will do my best to keep the group together.

Details (RL read field instructions carefully):

Since everyone had a good time on this ride a few weeks ago I’m doing it again this Saturday. As usual Eduardo has invited us in his restaurant for a snack after the ride; don’t be bashful, stay and chat with us. Today’s Mi Tierrita ride will be going to Smith’s Point. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there and of course the Woodside bigger incline. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 to 15.0 mph, depending on the roads, wind direction, and the group. The road speed will be between 15 and 17 mph. There are a few break - a - way spots for those who wish to do so. You are not obligated to do this you can hang back with me and do a nice steady pace.

We'll stop along the way for a pee break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack for the beach stop. Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out; no googling allowed. PARKING: Use the area of the parking lot on the SOUTH side first.

Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:45am if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start.
