NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

The Charley birds has become noted for,staying together and for us old folks, it is a real nice treat....less stress. If you goal is to get off the front , go with the faster group or plan on holding back on your pace.Also it would be appreciated if all members riding this ride be an active sbra member. If,there was ever an accident with a non member in the field, it,could be a problem. See everyone Sunday......pleas be aware of cancellations due to rain, some people are coming a relatively long distance so cancelling,will be posted by 6 am.
This is the ususal ride to Bake Bakery that I do but we will go to Quouge before going to the Bakery which will be our food/rest stop. We stay together and everyone helps pull the ride.
Please check for any changes the morning of the ride.
Quick stop at Wildwood Park for snacks/water. You can purchase snacks at the deli outside the park. This ride has 3 hills. Wait ups at the top of the hills. No one gets dropped. We will try for a B pace but may dip down to a high B- average depending on rider ability
Please park near the driveway at the McDonalds end of the lot
Park in the far east portion of the lot closest to the begining of the trail. Bring a snack as there is no place to buy anything.Bathrooms are open in the park about 7 miles into the ride. We will take a bathroom break at that point if need be. We will take a snack break at the haf way point. The first half of this ride is flat but it gets a bit hilly as we head north. Any changes or cancelations will be made by 7A.M.
If you have plans for Sunday afternoon then this is the ride for you.
We will ride out of the Islip Terrace Post Office parking lot and head to Hechscher State Park for a restroom break and a loop around the park. Then we will go to Islip Beach for a short break and return to the Post Office. Please bring your drinks and snacks. Any questions concerning this ride call my cell phone 516 448-8545.
We have permssion to park at the Post Office on the South West side of the lot near the parking lot Exit.

This ride is to help new members get acquainted with club riding. Of course all are welcome. We'll go over bike fit to make sure your comfortable. We will also check other equipment and show you how to change a flat. Milage and speed will depend on the group. If you have any questions please call my phone (631)478-9072.
On this afternoon ride, we will begin in Riverhead riding east to New Suffolk, Nassau Point and Horton’s Light House. The ride includes a number of heavy rollers so anticipate a moderate B/B+ pace.
