Come out and join me for a nice morning ride from Sayville to Bellport. We'll stop at the Bellport dock to view the Great South Bay. Either bring a snack or you may purchase something at the Bellport Deli.
This is a structured C+/B- ride which will average 13.6 - 14.4 (with ride speed up to 16), depending on wind, riders, etc. There will be cue sheets and no one will be dropped.
NOTE: Park on the South Side of the train station.
UPDATE – 8/10/2016 – 7:20AM – Route and distance might change in order to stay closer to the start in case of rain. We will make up our mind on the route at start time. As of now the ride is a go.
Tthis morning it might be nice to take a ride through Bellport and Patchogue stopping for a break at Mickey D’s around mile 20. The average pace will be between 14.8 to 15.0 mph depending on the roads, wind direction, dew point, and other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17.0 mph.) to produce the average. There will be the usual places for leg stretches for those who wish.
Depending on the wind and the route back we might be adding a mile or two.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30am if necessary. My cell phone number is 631-484-3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride.

Wed at 4:30pm...hard to call this based on various radars. But since the roads have dried off some and the skies may hold, I am going to keep this ride a "Go". I'll be at the start and we may shorten it or just do some close hill loops as we watch the skies and radar!!
I am leading Barbara Abraham's traditional Wed Nite ride for a bit longer. We look forward to her being back in the lead soon!
Join us as we travel scenic backroads thru the Stonybrook-Setauket area: historic places, great views, great sunsets, great folks. We are a diverse group out for an enjoyable ride and fun nite. There are places to stretch your legs ahead and wait ups after climbs. But please note this is not a "race ride". Apres ride dinner.
Check ride calendar for any changes or cancellations by 4:30pm the day of ride.
