NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Scenic ride along the north shore of the peconic. Break at a deli in Cutchogue. Average speed will be between 13.5 and 14mph, depending on temp./humidity, wind and rider ability. This is hills 101: lots of hills taken at your own speed. Everyone waits for everyone after the hills; there's no push from the leader. We do B- on the flats and whatever we can on the hills. We will ride to the lighthouse in Old Field for a quick water break. There is a bathroom and snack stop (bring your snack) after the flat 3 mile beach loop.

How about going to Yaphank today? The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 and 15.0 mph. The road speed on this ride will be between 15 and 17 mph. depending on the roads, wind direction and other conditions. There are a few places along the route where one can stretch the legs if desired. There is no obligation to do this: you won’t get left behind. Around mile 20 there will be a rest stop at the deli.

PARK ON SOUTH SIDE OF TRACKS ACROSS ROAD ADJACENT TO BALL FIELD. Average pace of 11.5 - 12.8 depending on wind, tide, slowest rider and leaders disposition. As always Newbies more than welcome and well taken care of. Nobody left behind. Any cancellation by 4pm. Try to arrive 10 min. early as daylights burning and we want to leave on time.
This is the last week at the Sayville start location, ride returns to JFK Elementary in East Islip for September and October. Park at the overflow lot south of the train station. We will ride east from Sayville through Bayport, Blue Point, Patchogue and Bellport, with a short break at the dock in Bellport. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 3PM. If weather is iffy but I haven't cancelled by 3PM I will be at the ride start and make the call at that time.
