NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

This ride is intended to come in at 15.5 to 16 mph. There should be around 25 miles of scenic loops south of montauk where we should maintan 15.5 mph. The rest will be familiar backroads where we can average 16+ mph, Keepings top speeds under 18 mph. Pulling is optional but appreciated in stronger winds. My cell is 631 560 4772. Donna
Date change to Monday. This ride meanders along the Peconic Bay, goes up the the Long Island Sound, down to Nassau Point, and up to Peconic Dunes County Park. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:00am. Rest stops will be at a deli in Cutchogue, both going and coming back.
Join us for a scenic tour thru the historic community that once was the Vanderbilt estate in Oakdale, part of which became known as the Idle Hour Artist's Colony. Ride thru the Mews, pass the buildings Vanderbilt built, the homes that came later along the canals, Dowling College, the Connetquot River with views of the Bayard Cutting arboretum...and more! Meet at the south end of the Oakdale train station parking lot.
II'm not sure which way we're going yet. The wind direction will factor into the direction we go. There will be a short break and speed will be 13-15mph.
Leaving Bank of America heading to the Great River area & Connetquot bike path.Bring snacks and drinks for this ride. Lights and reflective clothing are recommended.
This is a -B ride that will average 14.5 to 15mph and road speed that will reach 17 to 18mph.

Ride from the Sayville Train Station to the Bellport Docks. This will be a relaxed C+/B- pace with cruising on Middle Road and South country road at 13 to 16 mph depending on the wind. Tonight's route will not have many loops to keep the distance to 24 miles. There will be a short water break at the Bellport docks.
