Nice scenic ride on the north shore, with some hills and some waitups. We will stay together and pace ourselves through this route. After ride lunch at Saint James Public House.
Sorry about the late posting ... GR will be fine by tomorrow morning ... and last week the ES trail was very clear of brush (figure it's been maintained by CLIMB) but I'll have DEET on hand regardless ... plan on taking it slow and easy before the RR Century.

Come and join Brenda and me for a ride from Holtsville (Greenbelt Rec. Center) to East Islip, where we will take our break at the golf course. There are beverages, food, and bathroom facilities available.
This will be a C+- ride which will average 12.5 - 13.0 and there will be cue sheets.
NOTE: The entrance to the parking lot is on Greenbelt Parkway, off Patchogue Holbrook Rd., between Nocolls Road & Woodside Ave.
The ride will take us around the Holbrook area, and then up to Ronkonkoma before turning around, heading south back to Holbrook. At the end of the ride we can all go for coffee and a bagel and chat as usual, if you want. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.3 & 15.0 mph; naturally the road speed will be higher to produce the average.
Any cancellation due to weather or any other circumstance will be posted no later than 7:45am if necessary. If you have question about the ride or the start location please call or text me 631.484.3490…
This ride is hills 101. We will do a low C+/B- on the flats and whatever we personally can do on the hills.
As the weeks go by, we improve to a B- average. Waitups on hills occur as a normal part of this ride. The only challenge is a personal one: do better than the last time.
Our break is at the Oldfield lighthouse. Be sure to bring your own snack. There is no bathroom stop. Cancellation for any reason will be by 8:00am. My email is [frchtchr@hotmail.com]. My cell morning of ride is 631-835-1454.
Join us on a leisurely ride to Manorville with a stop at McDonalds. Leader will maintain a 13-14 mph level ground cruising speed. No one will be dropped. Any change will be posted by 8 am. Call me at 631 846-7825 if you have any questioons.
UPDATE - TUE 1:45PM - There is now rain in the forecast for late afternoon and early evening. Since I already brought my bike with me to work I will be at the ride start and make the "go/no go" call at that time.
We'll either ride west to Oakdale/Bohemia or east to Patchogue/Bellport. No food stop but we can take a short break along the route. Cancellation for any reason will be posted by 2PM.
As this is an after work ride wheels have to be down at 5:20 SHARP. Be ready to ride at the posted time as DAYLIGHTS A BURNIN!
