NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

The ride will be shortened by 5 miles so we can make it to the luncheon by 12:00 as Christine has requested. Threatened storms may still cancel the ride. This ride will go along Peconic Bay with its Scenic Views. We will head up to Cutchogue, past farms and vineyards, and stop at a deli in Cutchogue for bathrooms and snacks/coffee. From the deli we head North to the L.I. Sound. We than continue East before turning around and heading back to our parking area. There are several porta-potties on our route both coming and going at parks and marinas. The ride is approximately 40 miles, a threat of rain could shorten or even cancel the ride. High winds could slow our pace. This ride does not include Nassau Point. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for any changes, which will be posted by 06:15am. Before we start our ride I will need to know how many riders will be going to the restaurant so I can phone in the number to Tricia. Each person going to the restaurant will be responsible for their own bill. The club does not reimburse for the food. You need not go to the restaurant to come on the ride. Park at the far end of the main waterfront parking lot. Be prepared to leave at 8:00 sharp, prep your bike the night before, since we want to get to the restaurant so we can eat with the other groups.
Steady paced ride out on the scenic North Fork than join us for lunch at the Sound Bistro. For the ride bring 2 water bottles and snack, for the Sound Bistro bring your wallet. If you'd rather skip lunch; just join us for the ride. Please use the link to put the route on your Garmin/Wahoo or whatever.
Let's ride from the Picnic out to Mattituck on Peconic Bay Boulevard, visit the submarine base at New Suffolk and then cut up to the West Side of Mattituck inlet. The Park there gives a nice view of the inlet and the sound. Pretty water views and you get to see Peconic Bay and Long Island Sound. Multiple opportunities for rest stops. Bring a snack for when we stop at the Mattituck inlet park. This will be a very moderate B- pace. We'll stay as a group, no one gets dropped.
This is a mulit-level ride and you may pick the ride leader/distance/pace you want to do.
My ride is a C+/B- ride, which will average 13.5-13.9, with cue sheets. We will be riding out to Mattituck, where we will take a break at the Deli on Love Lane. Our return will take us through Jamesport, then up around Riverhead, and then possibly ride past the Buffalo on our way back to the ride start.
If you wish, some riders are going to the Sound Bistro (formerly the Lobster Roll North) on Sound Avenue for lunch following the ride (you pay for your own food and drink). By the start of the ride we need to know how many people are planning to go to the restaurant, so they can set aside enough seating space.
Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for any changes, which would be posted by 7:15 am.
Since this is being posted 3 months in advance, check back closer to the ride date for any changes. We will ride from Riverhead to Briermere for a short break. Many of us will go to lunch after the ride at the Sound Bistro on Sound Avenue following the ride. You can still ride if you don't want to join us for lunch. We will need a head count prior to leaving for the ride if you are coming to eat (food cost is paid by each rider). Stop at a bathroom before getting to the ride start as there is not usually one available.
This is a mulit-level ride and you may pick the ride leader/distance/pace you want to do.
My ride is a C, which will average 10.5-11.3. As always, newbies well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. By the start of the ride we need to know how many people are planning to go to the restaurant, so they can set aside enough seating space. This ride is to get you nice and hungry for lunch at the Sound Bistro after the ride. If you don't have time for lunch and can do the ride thats fine too! We will be heading east and looping around back to Riverhead.
We will be leaving Bank of American in East Islip heading to Great River and East Islip area. Please bring your snacks and drinks for this ride. Any questions call Mike at 516 448-8545
This is a B- ride with an average speed of 14.5 to 15mph, road speeds may reach 17-18mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 2:00pm day of ride.
We have been thinking of having a moderately paced ride where we help with cycling technique. We won't focus on anything specific during these rides but instead will work on issues that individuals are having. Maybe its how long of a pull to take, which direction to pull off, when to let someone into the paceline, when to point things out on the road, when to turn left if your in the front and you have 20 riders behind you, ect....ect....ect.
We hope to keep the group small so it would be nice if you would call the shop and let us know you are coming.
