NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

We will be riding from Patchogue to Montauk and taking the LIRR back. Route will be similar to SBRA’s annual Montauk Century ride but starting from Patchogue instead of Babylon. Route is very scenic and we try to avoid big roads whenever possible.
Train departs Montauk at 2:48pm and arrives back in Patchogue at 4:43pm.For those wishing to spend the day in Montauk, the next train leaves Montauk at 10:05pm and arrives Patchogue at 11:52pm.
I suggest riders bring two water bottles, some energy snacks and extra $$ for rest stops/lunch/train fare. We will make hydration/rest stops approximately every 20-25 miles. Depending on when we arrive in Montauk (and what shape we're in when we get there - lol) we can discuss some options (extend ride to lighthouse, sit-down lunch in town, buy deli sandwiches and eat on train, Gosman's Dock, etc.).
Any changes will be posted by 6am.
If you are interested in this ride or have any questions, please let me know by 9pm Wed. FYI - The LIRR has the right to limit the number of bikes they allow on each train so I need to get a rough headcount. Please call or txt my cell (347-922-3824).I’ve done this ride several times and never had a problem with the LIRR, but you never know.
Special note: Riders will need a Bike Permit so you can bring your bike on the train. The permit cost is $5 but it is good for life (unless you lose it) and it can be purchased on the train without a penalty fee. You will also need to purchase a one-way off-peak ticket for the ride home (approx $10) and should be purchased prior to boarding to avoid penalty fee. LIRR ticket machine is located at the station.
Bruce P. keeps asking me to schedule this ride for the "breakfast special" at the deli in Patchogue. So, this will be a C+ ride from Sayville, that will include parts of Sayville, Bayport, Blue Point and Patchogue. We will have a bathroom stop at Corey Beach and then take our break at a deli in Patchogue (early breakfast special available) and then loop back around Sayville to the ride start. (Now I just hope Bruce can make the ride...Ha, Ha).
This is a structured ride which will average 12.5 - 12.9.
NOTE: Park on the South Side of the train station.
This ride will welcome Jim Drago back to the road after a short time off. We will maintain a steady 18mph. Finally a chance to smell the roses. Plus, this may be the only chance we'll ever get to drop Jim on Route 24; don't miss it! I hope to see you there.
A beautiful ride around the North Shore towns of Old Westbury, Roslyn Harbor and Sands Point with a rest stop at the Harbor Deli in Port Washington at mile 19.
Mostly flat easy pace along some of the local back roads to see what there is to see. We will have a stop mid way, but bring enough drink and snack since the stop will be by the water (no deli). Mileage may vary slightly depending on the group and the humidity.
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to Smith’s Point. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there. The route on the way back may change depending on the wind.
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 to 15.0 mph+/-, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.0 mph. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack for the stop along the way.
Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out; PARKING: Use the area of the parking lot on the SOUTH side first
