NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 12.2 - 12.8. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride destination will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will head to the Atlantic Ave. Deli for our break and there will be a bathroom stop.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.

Heritage park in Mt sinai, park to the right of the enterance. The speed will wnd up at the low end of B- due to the hills. The route is rolling to Shoreham, then there is a scenic hill ride to see the view before visiting the bagel shop. Our return in via East Bartlet.
This time around we'll head from South St. School down to Hampton Bays, with flat to lightly rolling terrain. We'll head down Route 24 to Hampton Bays, so they'll be plenty of time to ride in a paceline. The return brings us back through Eastport with a new road or two. (Can't wait to visit Kreb Cycle East in Eastport).
Plan on a paceline ride with everyone working together like a team, so no one gets dropped Bring some snacks and two water bottles, as the food stop is around 24 miles into the ride. Also, bring your appetite for pavement, we'll be doing 45 miles!
So, if you interested in challenging yourself a bit, come join us. We usually have a fun ride where it's all about the riding, not about long food stops...
We're training to do an unsupported Century in a few week. Working on increasing speed and distance to get in shape for the season. This is not a beginner century traing ride.

Wheels up at 9:15am for a ride to Babylon Docks and back. We will stop for refreshment at the Deli at the Babylon Docks. Depending on the wind and direction we should average 14.5 - 15. Of course in order to obtain this average at times our road speed could be 15-17 mph. No one will get dropped. Please check ride calendar at 7:30am day of ride for go or no go incase of issues which would prevent me from riding or bad weather.
Off to Nettie's Bakery, with its great baked goods, outdoor seating and bathrooms. We will ride on the Grumman Trail, as well as local roads. Sunshine Mall to Manorville with stop at McD's. This is a volunteer shared pull ride with road speed between 16-17 mph. With good weather, I hope to be able to do a LOW B average.

COVID PRECAUTIONS: Generally speaking most of us who have been riding together do not wear masks during the ride, if you are only comfortable riding with those that wear masks, then you might want to chose a different ride. That said, please respect those that are on the ride and distance appropiately at the times we are not moving.
