Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This will be a slower than normal ride, coming in at the low end of C+/B- We all need to do some hills to get fitter but I am avoiding Mt Grey for a few more weeks! There will be plenty of view stops and wait ups as necessary.
I am not sure if any bathrooms are open but we can swing by Emma Clarke library after Strongs Neck if necessary. Snack stop at the lighthouse.
Wrist tendenitis, so I'm out for a while. Can't seem to get going this year.
don't hear from anyone, Har and I will leave from home -- so please be sure to text that you're coming, with your SBRA number and emergency phone number. My cell: 631-835-1454.
This will be a SLOW ride, people, even on the flats, as we get our legs back from the winter. The old route through Stony Brook/Setauket. When we get to the hills, take what ever speed, fast or slow, and we'll meet at the top. Expect an average around 12mph to 12.5mph. No bathroom break, just a snack stop at the lighthouse. Any changes or cancellation will be posted by 8:30 morning of ride. New hill riders welcome.
Join me for this C ride, which will average 11.0 - 11.5; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will head to Blue Point and loop around Corey Beach, and our break will be at the Atlantic Ave. Deli; there will be a bathroom stop.
Please text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact phone number if you plan to ride.
