NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

This ride will accept a maximum of three (3) other riders as 80% of the ride will be on the North Shore Rail Trail. The C+/B- pace is due to the safety precautions taken at the crossings. The moving pace will be closer to a B pace. If you plan to do my ride then please contact me by texting to 631-988-6557. At the Wading River end of the trail we will proceed down to Grumman Blvd upto Berman Blvd. The ride will be extended to 45 miles if all riders want to add a loop around Lake Panamoka.
On this ride I will try to introduce my bike path safety rules. Suggestions by other riders will be considered.
DRIVE CAREFULLY! If you're running late text me and I will wait a few extra minutes.
Check back to this posting regardless ... Life Happens and Things Change!
We'll leave the parking lot across from The Maples for a ride out to Briermere Farms, where we'll have a food stop. The route takes us out through Deep Hole and the fields outbound, and then back through the fields on the return.
This will be a Friendly controlled paceline ride, where we are going to stay together as a group! Why can't we be friends, right? https://youtu.be/_mMF4tF1rjY?t=20
SO, the pace will be even with no surges, coming-in at the lower end of the B/B+ range. Riders that have been doing B rides and want to move up to B/B+ are welcome to come along. We'll make this a no-drop ride, just remember that we'll have a limited number of stops...
So lets get out and ride...I hear the scones are really good at Briermere Farms!
The ride to Orient is changed to this Friday, due to predicted wind gusts of 20mph on Wednesday. Check the ride calendar for changes, which will be posted by 08:00am, day of ride.
