NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

A little more distance this week, concentrating on our endurance and not speed. We will start with part of the reverse 51, circle around to the John Shea Friday night race lap, pass thru the golf course, hit the tanks and head back to Calverton. Quick rest stop after the Golf Course and a bit longer stop at Briermere Farm mile 42. Be sure to download and review the route, lots of turns and some different roads on this one. Hope to see you there!
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to the Beach. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there. The average pace for the ride will be 15 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 15.0 and 16.0 mph. The usual break-a-ways will happen for those who desire. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack. Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out. Pulls are appreciated
If I don't hear from anyone, I'll leave from home -- so please be sure to text that you're coming, with your SBRA number and emergency phone number. My cell: 631-835-1454.
Not particularly hilly, not entirely flat, not really rolling, mostly some north shore upgrades and pretty Belle Terre scenery. There is an optional hill which others can avoid by meeting at the top of the hill via a flat route. Break around mile 20 at Dunkin'.
Changes or cancellation will be posted no later than 8am morning of ride.
Join me for this easy C ride that will average 11.0 - 11.6. We will be riding from the Timber Point Golf Course in East Islip to Islip, and doing a few loops with some nice sights and water views. We will take a brief break along the way, so bring your own snacks, and we will find bathroom stops when necessary.
No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. The exact route will be determined the morning of the ride (thus, no cue sheets).
After entering the golf course, park in the FIRST lot on your RIGHT.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
Ride starts at Oakdale RR station and goes to Corey Beach with a lot of neighborhood ins and outs. This is a C+/B- ride, cruising at 14 to 16 mph to get an average of 13 to 14 mph. Any changes will be posted at least 90 minutes before the ride.
