Take a tour of some beautiful North Shore scenery. This is a good chance to get a little hill training in. This ride some long flat sections and some long easy gradual satisfying grades both up and down. There are a couple of steeper climbs but those are short. We'll be slower than C+ on some ups and faster down!! There's nothing to worry about because we'll be patient and take appropriate wait ups as we all try to get into shape! This is a great way to get your feet wet on some moderate hills or possibly at the beach. After the ride, reward yourself at Little Vincent's for arguably one of Long Islands's best slices.
Bring $ and snacks. Pizza is cash only. There are no food stops during the ride. There will be quick scenic breaks for snacks with restrooms available.
If I don't hear from anyone, I will leave from home -- so please be sure to text that you're coming, with your SBRA number and emergency phone number. My cell: 631-835-1454.
I am still cruising at 13-15, but I must be pretty heavy on the 14/15, as our average has been 13-13.5. The old route through Stony Brook/Setauket. When we get to the hills, take whatever speed, fast or slow, and we'll meet at the top. Expect an average of low 13+. No bathroom break, just a snack stop at the lighthouse. Any changes or cancellation will be posted by 8:30 morning of ride. New hill riders welcome.
Ride to Bellport docks, pace 13-15 depending on wind/weather, short stop/break at the docks Park/meet near Ihop parking lot. Any questions about this ride call my cell 631-882-4366
We will be leaving Bank of America and head to Great River and East Islip for a 22 mile ride. The ride will be at a B- pace with an average speed of around 14.5 to 15 mph and road speeds that will reach 16 to 18 mph.
Changes or cancelation will be posted by 1:300pm day of ride.
