Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

It's summertime and the Firehouse 44 is back! This will be a smooth A- ; with a group effort and some tailwinds we may come in with an adv. speed over 20. The group will stay together. Hope you can join.
If I don't hear from anyone, I will leave from home -- so please be sure to text that you're coming, with your SBRA number and emergency phone number. My cell: 631-835-1454.
This ride is 32 miles of pretty flat, going to Coram, plus 4 miles of hills: going UP Ashton, a toughie (wait-ups, no problem) followed by the rollers on West Bartlett and a break at the Springlake Golf Course.
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to the Beach. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there. The average pace for the ride will be between 15 to 16.0 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 17.0 and 18.0 mph. The usual break-a-ways will happen for those who desire. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack. Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out. Pulls are appreciated. Cyclists coming with "E" bikes must stay at the end of the bike line.
We will follow the same route as Howard except, it will be shorter, and slower. I would like to come in between 13.8 and 14 mph +/- a tad. Trying to build up distance and speed so all of us can get back to riding a Low (14.5) B minus. In order to get this average we will be doing road speeds between 14.5 and 16 mph. Expect going down hill, or with the wind at your back will be faster. We will take a break at Wertheim at 15 miles and then head back. Things could change slightly due to the road conditions and the wind. At the end of the ride you are welcome to stop in and have an empanada cooked by Eduardo and drink some aguapanela.
If you have any questions or concerns please text me at 631.484.3490. Should there be a cancelation or change it will be posted by 7:30am.
Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 11.8 - 12.5, no one gets dropped, and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. We will loop around part of lower Stony Brook, then go around St. James. We will take our break at the St. James Bagel Shop (food, beverages, and bathroom available). Route to be determined the morning of the ride, so no cue sheets.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you must text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact Phone Number if you want to ride, I will return the text: YES, you have a spot; NO, ride is filled. CELL #: 631-523-2129.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start to "get yourself" ready.
