NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

I am posting this ride to see if there is any interest. You MUST contact me if you are interested in doing this ride (347-922-3824). If there is no interest, I may cancel or modify the ride.
The plan is to bike to Montauk from the Blue Point Brewery in Patchogue one-way and take the LIRR back home. Trains depart Montauk at 3:16pm and 5:19pm. There is also a 7:42pm for anyone interested in having dinner in Montauk (lights are required if taking this train because LIRR station is about 1/2 mile from BPB parking lot and it will be dark out).
I suggest riders bring two water bottles, some energy snacks for the ride and extra $$ for rest stops/lunch/train fare). We will make hydration/rest stops approximately every 20-25 miles. Depending on when we arrive in Montauk (and what shape we're in when we get there - lol) we can discuss options. Extend ride out to lighthouse and make it a Century, sit-down lunch in town, grab deli sandwich and eat on train, etc.
Pls note that the LIRR has the right to limit the number of bikes they allow on each train (there are NO guarantees); however, I’ve done this ride many times and never had a problem.
It is our familiar north route with one extra hill. Instead of taking Randall up as the first hill, we will do Jacob's ladder, loop around, then do Randall. Should be fun.
Super Saturday 72 mile ride from Yaphank Firehouse. This will be a ride to build endurance for Tour Of The Hamptons ride in October. North ride that will include 3 Hills. New time is 8am! We will take short breaks at around mile 25 and 50.
This will be an easy C+ ride around Center Moriches, that will average 12 - 12.6, and will be taking our break at Nettie's. There are some very nice water views along the way. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Since the exact route will be determined as we go along, there will not be a cue sheet.
The number of riders is limited, so if you want to ride you must text me (631-523-2129) with your SBRA Member Number and Emergency Contact phone number. I will respond to your text and let you know if you have a spot on the ride. Once the ride is filled, I will change to post to indicate that.
Riders should arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
Route and distance have been changed due to the predicted winds from Good old Hurricane Lee. I think the run out to Cutchogue would have been just too windy on the return leg!
SO, let's meet at the parking lot across from the Maples Bar for a controlled paceline ride. The revised route will take us in and around the Pine Barrens; keeping us mostly out of the wind. But hold onto your hats for the great downwind runs! Plan on a ride without any stops except for wait-ups.
The route will include a run down Grumman Blvd. , and up Connecticut and Mill Road. Later we'll see Hot Water Street and ride up South St. and back through the Pine Barrens to the finish. IF conditions are too windy, there are plenty of bail-out points to shorten the route and get back to the start.
