Scenic ride along South Fork out to Montauk. Planning to catch the 2:46pm train back to Speonk. If there's enough time, there's an option to head out to the lighthouse for an add'l 12 miles.
Bring some $$ for train fare and lunch. Rest stops as needed. No one gets dropped.
Please call or txt if you plan to join (347-922-3824).
Changes posted by 6:30am so pls check post before leaving in the morn. No need to be 20 mins early - just be ready to ride by 8am.
Our usual Reverse 51 with the addition of a portion of 25A to gain a few miles. Rest stop at Wildwood Lake, A- for a nice steady no surge pace. Hope to see you there!
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to the Beach. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there. The average pace for the ride will be between 15 to 16.0 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 16.0 and 17.0 mph. The usual break-a-ways will happen for those who desire. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack. Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out. Pulls are appreciated.
Let's take advantage of the predicted nice weather, and leave the parking lot by the Maples Bar for a long paceline spin out to Cutchogue. Think endurance pace for thie ride, as we'll be putting in some miles and we'll need to save some energy for those North Fork breezes! So, let's keep a nice even pace without surges for this ride and enjoy the weather and scenery.
For this ride, we'll paceline out Grumman Blvd. and Route 24 and then ride along the Peconic Bay. We'll stop at the deli in Cutchogue, for a food break. Then it's the return run past some of the vineyards to Peconic Bay Blvd., then a run around Peconic Lake in Riverhead and the eventual return to Manorville.
Parking note: Facing the bike shop, the entrance to the lot is on the left of the shop. Park in the far left portion of the lot. High winds on Dune Road will change this ride into a Quogue Meander instead of going out to the Shinnecock Inlet. Rest room stops going and coming back. Bring snacks and drinks for scenic stops. At around mile 25, we will stop in a pocket park near a 7-11 and a bakery in case you wish to purchase a snack or drink. A stop at the Quogue Preserve is included on this ride. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of the ride. Check the ride caendar for changes, which would be posted by 07:30am, date of ride. Special note: this ride does not leave from the Eastport King Kullen.
This is a C pace for those NEW TO GROUP RIDING and/or RECOVERING. This easy ride from Bellport that will average 11.4 - 11.9 for a distance of no more than 20 miles, but possibly less. Not sure where we will take our break, but we will be observing spacing rules, etc., and since the exact route will be determined as we go along, there will not be a cue sheet.
The number of riders is limited, so if you want to ride you must text me (631-523-2129) with your SBRA Member Number and Emergency Contact phone number. I will respond to your text and let you know if you have a spot on the ride. Once the ride is filled, I will change to post to indicate that.
Riders should arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
Please text if you will join me. If no one texts, I'll leave from home. My cell is 631-835-1454.
This ia a SLOW C+ to help me recoup from some Italian hills. Cruising at 13/14. A mostly flat ride south to Bohemia with a stop on the way back to enjoy our snacks at Lake Ronkonkoma. Bathroom stop at mile 19 at the LIRR station. After our snack, we'll stop at the Ronkonkoma princess tree carving.
