Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

This ride will not be a Race to 21mph finish. Smooth steady 19mph finish. The SmithPoint 60 miles. Unable to ride Long Distance on Saturday so I'm posting a long distance B+/A-. 60 miles start at 8am. After the ride Bagels at My Camper on me. Just bring your drinks.
We will stop at Mile 20 and 40 for a 5 minute regroup and drink/Snack.
THE START LOCATION HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE DAYTON AVENUE SCHOOL !!!
Thanks to Jeff Meyer for informing us that a major event will be at The Maples on Sunday!
It's been awhile since we did the Early Birds / Charlie Birds...
So let's bring back the spirit of the South Route, with a ride leaving from The Maples. We'll call this the Short Course, and leave out Dune Road this time!
We'll ride through Eastport, Remsenberg, Westhampton Beach and then avoid Dune Road by taking Montauk Hwy. to Hampton Bays. Then we pick up East Tiana and eventually have a stop at 26 miles at the gas station on Canoe Place. Then it's Red Creek and the time trial up Route 24 to Grumman Blvd. and home!
We'll have a few regroups along the way to keep everyone together!
Let's work together and use those paceline skills! Please note: This a ride to enjoy riding in a group, not to jump the pace or start arguments!
Going to Great River. I would like to come in between 14.7 and 14.9 mph +/- a tad. In order to get this average we will be doing road speeds between 15.0 and 16.5 mph. Expect down hills and wind at your back to be faster. We will take a break at the bagel shop about mile 20. Things could change slightly due to road conditions and wind direction. The ride will have two break-aways.Pulling is always appreciated. If you have any questions, or concerns please text me at 631.484.3490. Should there be a cancelation, or change, it will be posted by 7:15am. GOOD STUFF AFTER THE RIDE.
This C+ ride of 18-25 miles will average 11.5-12.5mph. Bring snack/hydration as route depends on wind, tide, position of moon and ride leaders disposition. Newbies welcome and well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 7:30am. No need to text, email, phone, send message by carrier pidgeon or smoke signal me. Just show up 15-20 minutes before ride start to get your s**t together.
We will go the usual route heading south using the connetquot park bike path. We'll work our way down to Heckscher Park. I would like to keep the road speeds 15-18 mph and come in at an average 15 and 15.9. Pulls are always Appreciated.Good Stuff after the ride.
Heading down to Patchouge for snack break and a couple of nice water views. The cruising speed will be 14-15mph on the flats. Call if you have any questions.
