This is a friendly A pace team effort ride. Wait ups top of 51 and 111 & Halsey Manor Rd. Break at mile 27 at the 7-11 Exxon station. Looks like great weather is upon us, lets get out and enjoy it.
We will be leaving the bank heading to Babylon. There will be a quick break at the Docks. This is a B- ride that will average around 14.5 - 15 mph with road speeds that will reach 16 to 19 mph.
We'll take a paceline run out to Briermere Farms where you can decide! Pace will be a moderate B+.
The ride starts with a cruise down Route 24, and then runs up through Riverhead to Briermere.
The return run takes us back through the farms and up through the infamous Deep Hole. We'll then continue on Grumman Blvd. and Line Rd., leading us to the finish.
I will be changing the ride up on Tuesdays each week. Not going to middle Island this week. Changing it up a bit, going to Yaphank. I havent done this ride since 2021. There is a nice break-a-way and a fun down hill before our stop at the Back Country Deli. That deli stop will happen around mile 20. Depending on the day we might come in a mile more, or a mile less. No problems. Pulling is also appreciated. Just remember this is a B- ride
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 to 15.0 mph +/- a tad depending on the roads, wind direction, rider ability, tailwinds, downhills, break-a-ways and other conditions. All of these conditions could change the final average one way or the other. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average.
Any cancellation due to weather or any other circumstance will be posted no later than 0730am if necessary. If you have question about the ride just text me at 631.484.3490. Eventually my phone and I will meet in a reasonable amount of time...
