Off to Briermere's, with a brief stop to view the Bison, if they are in a field near the road. Briermere's has restrooms and shaded picnic tables. If you wish to share a pie, and enough riders want pie, bring money (small bills please). Briermere's also has individually sized baked goods, and hot and cold drinks. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your name and date of ride. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:00am.
Join me for this easy C+ ride that will average 12.0 - 12.6. We will be riding from the Timber Point Golf Course in East Islip to Islip, and doing a few loops with some nice sights and water views. We will take a brief break along the way, so bring your own snacks, and we will find bathroom stops when necessary.
No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. The exact route will be determined the morning of the ride (thus, no cue sheets).
After entering the golf course, park in the FIRST lot on your RIGHT.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency contact phone number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled.
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to the Beach. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there, and of course there must be one little hill. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.2 to 15.0 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 15.0 and 16.0 mph. The usual break-a-ways will happen for those who desire. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack. Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out.
Any cancellation due to weather or any other circumstance will be posted no later than 0800 if necessary. If you have question about the ride just TEXT me at 631.838 1458.
Time change to 9:00 so I can get somewhere else afterwards.
This is a special request from Laurie!

**Ride Has Changed** Due to special holiday bike restrictions on LIRR for this weekend, the Twin Points ride will be rescheduled for mid-Sept. I am now substituting a 75 mile R/T ride from the Blue Point Brewery to Hampton Bays. Pls note that ride start time and start location have changed.
You MUST pre-register for this ride. Pls call or txt me if you intend to join or if you have questions (347-922-3824).
Ride will take us from Speonk LIRR to Orient Pt using many scenic side roads along the North Fork (avoiding main roads as much as possible). Ride back to Greenport and catch the ferry to SI where we'll ride across the island and catch the south ferry to Sag Harbor. From Sag Harbor we head to East Hampton and then on to Montauk. The plan is to catch the 2:48pm train from Montauk back to Speonk. Pls note there is only ONE train leaving Montauk Fri afternoon so we must make this train, however, there is an option to bailout in East Hampton if someone feels they've had enough (around mile 75). For those who still feel they have more miles left in them, you can start riding back and catch the Mtk train that will make all local stops back to Speonk. Pls make sure you take the schedule with you.
Rest stops approx every 25 miles. Pack hydration, food, cell phone and some $$ (ferry, lunch and train fare). Also, pls make sure you have a backup plan to get home should something happen along the way (mechanical problem, cramping, etc).
This will be another easy, short, and flat ride around Center Moriches. This is a C+ ride, which will average 12.0 - 12.8, and will be taking our break at Nettie's. There are some very nice water views along the way. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Exact route will be determined as we go along, so no cue sheet.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE #1: I am limiting the number of riders, so text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact phone number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129
This will be about a 30 mile, B ride to McDonald's in Manorville. Distance and average are heat dependent. PLEASE BE FLEXABLE.
SHORT -- GULP and GO Water stops: 2 going & 1 on way back. MORE IF NEEDED
Pulls appreciated.
THE FINE PRINT, PLEASE NOTE: A fair question that is often asked is what will be the ride's average? This ride is posted as a B; however, recently our averages for previous rides have been in the lower 16s. Why is it posted as a B and not a B/B+? I want the group to realize that the average will be lower (closer to mid 15s) if it is hot, windy, or any rider is having maintaining the higher speeds. I know this is a vague explanation, but it's the best I got. The expectation is that the averge will be in the high 15s to low 16s. Hope this helps. Please text me if you have any questions.
Eastport Kreb Ride is ON this Saturday at 8am. It is the normal loop (40 miles) with an extension into Manorville which adds 17 miles. See you Saturday!
We will be doing Chris's Northern Route (23-28 MILES) to a pizza place that has many different types of pies. Travelling North by Artist's Lake to Whiskey Rd (for a short distance) over to Wm Floyd (nice wide shoulder) and up to The new North Fork Bike Trail. Taking the trail East to the end where there is a Bagel Shop, Chinese and great Pizza. After the break it's South and East back to Yaphank. No one gets dropped and Newbies always welcome. The cruising speed will be around 12-13. We'll stay together as a group. Naturally the speed depends on wind, position of moon, tide and ride leaders disposition. Breakaways are always welcome as long as you stop where I tell you to (Darlene). Any cancellations will be by 8am.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
This paceline ride will take us from Manorville to Cupsogue Beach, where we will have a stop. Along the way, we'll go through Eastport and Westhampton, before we reach Dune Road. Along Dune Road, everyone can ride at their own pace.
The return will take us back through Remsenberg and Eastport, before we hit Harts Road and head home.
We will be leaving the bank heading to Babylon. Our rest stops will be at the Dock and Islip Beach. Please bring snacks and drinks for this ride. This is a B ride that will average around 15.5 mph with road speeds that will reach 16 to 19mph.
If you have any questions call or text Mike at 516 448-8545.
Park in the lot across from the Fire House. We will let Tom's group leave first. Stop in Manorville for our break-bagel store, 7-11, McD's available. Contact me with any questions. It's nice if I know you are coming but not mandatory.
This is an A- paced ride. Early Birds is a faster ride. It starts at the Manorville King Kullen at 7:30. Our ride at 8:00 should be a brisk pace club ride not the Shoot Out at the OK Corral. If you find yourself pulling above 24 you're going too fast. Thanks in advance for respecting the post
One 7-11 stop with some occasional regroups. Hope to see you there.
Early Bird Route at top of B+ pace. If you can hold a B+ pace, you will not be dropped. One 7-11 stop, some wait ups on top of hills. Please check one hour before ride for any changes. Please text 631-742-6512 if you are coming. south route https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36988711
Park at the back of the car park on the left hand side. No bathrooms!
This is a very scenic ride with several twists, turns and dead ends, with some long sections where we can go faster. We will ride at a B- effort but because of the twists, turns and hills we will probably come in at a high C+/B-. Climbing is a little over 1100' with wait ups at the tops of hills so I can catch up.
We will take a ride through Poquott, Strong's Neck, Old Field Lighthouse, Crane's neck and West Meadow.
We can take a break at the lighthouse (mile 21) and briefly at the beach (mile 27), where there are bathrooms.
Join me for this morning ride from SAYVILLE to ?? We are starting at 9 AM so people can get back to do other things during the day. This will be a C+ ride, with the ride average between 12.0 - 12.8.
The exact route will be determined at the start (maybe east, maybe west, or maybe north), so there will not be a cue sheet for this ride. As always, we will take a break somewhere and there will be a bathroom availoable.
After the ride we may go for a slice of pizza or a burger (all at personal expense).
Park on the SOUTH side of the train station.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact phone number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled.
Off to Orient Point State Park from the Mattituck RR Station. There are some beautiful water views as we approach Orient, and great views as we head to the State Park. Lunch will be at the Orient General Store, great sandwiches, moderately priced. Make sure to bring snacks and water for the park, and along the way. The mileage for this ride will help you to prepare for the Seacoat Century, if you are going to New Hampshire. Easy C+ pace, numerous viewing and stops for water breaks. We will stop at the Horton Point lighthouse on the way back. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your name and date of ride. Strong winds or high heat will change or cancel this ride, so be sure to check for changes, which would be posted by 07:00am on the day of the ride.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride - if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. Taking turns pulling would be appreciated! I would like to keep the road speed between 15 & 16 mph and come in at an average between 14 and 15.0
The usual Mel-O Monday Ride. Please attend only if you can ride within the established limits of a B+/A- ride Cruise: 19-23 mph and Avg: up to 20 mph. Thanks in advance.
Review the link below to view and/or download the ride:
This will be a lower end C+/B- ride, which will average 12.8 - 13.4, partly depending on the winds, the riders, etc. Since the exact route will be determined at the start, so there willnot be a cue sheet for this ride. We will ride part of Dune Road (direction determined by the winds that day) and then take our break in Westhampton at the Beach Bakery, where bathrooms and food are available.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact Phone Number if you want to ride, I will return the text: YES, you have a spot; NO, ride is filled.
For this FLAT (maybe 1 or 2 small hills) 18-22 mile ride the Average speed is 11.5-12.5mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition. We will be leaving The Wharf and head to Blue Piont/Corey Beach for a 24 mile ride. The ride will be at a B- pace with an average speed of around 14.5 to 15 mph and road speeds that will reach 16 to 19 mph.
This will be about a 31 mile, B ride from Eastport to Quogue with a break at the Beach Bakery. Distance and average are heat dependent. PLEASE BE FLEXABLE.
SHORT -- GULP and GO Water stops
Pulls appreciated.
THE FINE PRINT, PLEASE NOTE: Haven't done this route in awhile because of summer traffic so I'm uncertain of the final average but should be close to fast B to slow B/B+.
This ride will be a minimum of 10 miles on the Calverton Bike Path depending on the ability of who shows up to ride. It will be breezy when we head east at the start but this will help on the way back to the start.
I'd appreciate a call or text at the cell # below if you plan on riding with us.

We'll regroup at the end of Pleasure Drive (mile 27) and take a break at Main Road Biscuit (mile 37). We'll come in somewhere in the A- average range (19-20mph), depending on winds and the group, but hopefully on the higher end of the range. Cruising ranges should be between 19-23.
This ride will go to Westhampton Beach, Cupsogue County Park, Shinnecock Inlet, back to Westhampton Beach and than the King Kullen lot. Bring snacks and drinks for stops along the way, with a longer food break at a pocket park in Westhampton Beach, near a 7-11 and a bakery. Lots of views along the way, as well as restrooms. This is an A- paced ride. Early Birds is a faster ride. It starts at the Manorville King Kullen at 7:30. Our ride at 8:00 should be a brisk pace club ride not the Shoot Out at the OK Corral. If you find yourself pulling above 24 you're probably going too fast.
This route will go Long Beach Boardwalk (BW), Atlantic Beach (BW), Far Rockaway (BW)... then we'll board a NYC Ferry from 108th Street in Far Rockaway and disembark in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. From there we ride along the Belt Parkway Bike Path, under the Verrazano Bridge, then onto some city streets to Nathan's in Coney Island for the official pitstop.
From there... the ride continues through Coney Island, Sheepshead Bay, Belt Parkway Bike Path, over the Marine Bridge, the Far Rockaway Boardwalk from beginning to end, Atlantic Beach Bridge to Long Beach Boardwalk and done.
It's about 40 miles of riding (57 if you count the miles on water).
Although posted as a B+, this will be a somewhat casual ride. The open road pace will be in the 17-18mph range... which will be off-set substantially by much slower riding on boardwalks and some city streets. The bridges are the only hills, but they can make some riders a little shaky. The rest of the route is dead flat.
The only foreseeable complication is the 8-10 bike limit per ferry. It's possible this could hinder my perfect plan, so join this ride open to the possibility of potential changes to the route.
If we have too many riders to fit on the ferry… then we ride straight to Nathan’s and return via Howard Beach back to the Rockaways.
YOU MUST... download the NYC Ferry app and have it set-up with your credit card info ready to go. Let's not have any unnecessary futzing around while you try and buy your ticket. The ride is $2.75 + $1.00 for the bike.
I have no set time frame for how long the ride will take, but we should be back in Long Beach by 3-3:30pm.
Obviously, this is a no drop ride and wait-ups (if necessary) will be no problem. Just bring your best bike handling skills and don't get freaked out by some riding on busy city streets. There is an abundance of restroom options all along the way. Bring plenty of snacks, gels, and water.
I would also strongly recommend bringing one "meal" to eat on the ferry. It'll be the perfect time to eat something substantial to hold you over until Nathan's.
Questions? Concerns? Feel free to text me....
RSVP: Please text me in advance if you plan to come. Include your name and SBRA Member ID and I'll sign you in.

This will be a B- ride. Expect an average between 14.9 and 15.0 Depending on many conditions this ride could come it a tad higher. In order to get this average the road speeds will be between 15.0 and 17.0 mph. Going downhill, or with the wind at your back will be faster. The main objective is to finish the ride without being too concerned about the average. The average will depend mainly on the wind, the hills, and who shows up. We will stay together and there will be one or two break-a-ways for those who want. We will take a break at the Beach and a rest stop at Wertheim about mile 10. Pulls would be appreciated.
After the ride Eduardo has invited us in for some GOOD Stuff.

Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to the Beach. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there, and of course there must be one little hill. The average pace for the ride will be between 17 to 19.0 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction.
PLEASE NOTE: Since Jason will be leading this ride, the route will be determined by him. With that said, anything mentioned below as far as the route is subject to change.
Looks like a nice night for a meander :) We'll do a loop through Heckscher and stop for the restrooms, proceed to Islip Beach and return. We won't be making long stops since sunset will be around 7:00 pm so we'll squeeze in as much as we can before we lose daylight.
Pack a snack (or two) and drink(s), and have lights on your bike.
Please text/or call me (631-521-0688) if you plan on coming on this ride. We will be leaving promptly at 5:00 pm.
Changes/cancellation will be posted here prior to 3:00 pm the day of the ride.

In that spirit, lets head to the beach, Cupsogue Beach. We'll take the long way 'round, taking County Road 24 and 104, before we head up County Road 31. Then it's through Westhampton Beach to Dune Road and Cupsogue.
After a break at the beach, it's back along the south route through Remsenberg and Eastport.
This will be a controlled B+ paceline ride. The group stays together, except for the round trip along Dune Road, where you can take your own pace. Let's try to ride together like a team, instead of a bunch of Freds trying to out-do each other.
Primary destination is Nettie's, may be Smith's Point or Patchogue, depending on wind direction and force. For this ride the Average speed is 12.5-13mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition with a distance of 20-26 miles. Nobody gets left behind and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be before 8:00am. No need to text me.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
This is a scenic tour! of the north fork. Lots of viewpoints along the route. A high B- on the straights but will probably come in mid B- because of all the twists and turns.
No bathroom at the start but will stop at the park a mile away. A break at a deli in Southold (mile 23) Hopefully the Mattituck Magic Fountain ice cream shop will be open at the end of the ride.
Any questions text 631 331 5642. Check morning of ride for changes.
***You must pre-register for this ride.*** Please call or txt me if you plan to join before 10pm Sat evening (347-922-3824).
Greenport to Montauk century ride. Very scenic ride with almost 3,700ft of climbing (see RwGPS route below).
Rest stops approx every 25 miles. Pack hydration, food, cell phone and some $$ (ferry, lunch, etc). Also, pls make sure you have a backup plan to get home should something happen along the way (mechanical problem, cramping, etc).
Join me for this easy C+ ride that will average 12.3 - 12.8.

I would like to keep the road speed between 17 & 19 mph and come in at an average between 15 and 16.0
This a preride of the SBRA cares event. We will be parking at the Yaphank firehouse instead of Southaven County Park. I have ridden about 80% of the route so far, I need to check the last 20% to make sure that it is all clear. Please bear in mind, you are along for the ride to scope things out, there might be some obstacles that are unexpected. I will be going at a slocial pace. Please ride what you are comfortable with, when in doubt, please walk. I am using wide tires, there is sand, single track, double track, dirt, rocks, and pavement. There are a couple of stream crossings in Southaven, but you should not get wet. Mountain, Gravel and Fat Bikes are perfect for this ride, road bikes are not, You will struggle on a few sections with a cross bike.
We will be riding on lots of multi-use trails, we will be considerate of others.
Please take tick precautions, use whatever works for you, bring a spare tube, be sure to have water and a snack or two. No official rest stop, but will stop when needed.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
We will be leaving the bank heading to Babylon. Our rest stops will be at the Dock and Islip Beach. Please bring snacks and drinks for this ride. This is a B- ride that will average around 15 mph with road speeds that will reach 16 to 19 mph.
If you have any questions call or text Mike at 516 448-8545.

Strongs neck and then to the beach. Coffee stop at Druthers near Stony Brook railway station. Then we go through the university and tour around East Setauket - Pond Path is newly paved!!! The library also has a coffee place now - no idea what it's like but can always have a coffee at the end of the ride to find out.

We ride out from Bellport to Smith Point following some usual roads, but on the way back detour a bit for a Mastic Meander taking the longer way to Osprey Point with lots of turns. From there we head north, pass by the airport, head to River Road and then up to Yaphank, before heading back south to Bellport. All and all, a neat 40 miles that combines areas with many turns with long stretches of riding.
We will not be making a stop to buy lunch during the ride, but there will be a number of stops along the way, so please bring food you may want or need as well as sufficient hydration. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover.
To join the ride or if you have questions, please text Bill Mastro at 917-921-5358. Any updates or weather issues will be posted to the ride listing by 7:00 on the day of the ride.

We are starting at Southaven Park today so don't show up at Sunshine Mall! (I have to remember too!) we will meander around Manorville and stop at Dunkin for a quick break. Text me if you coming.
The route is about 40 miles and Stava shows 1300ft of elevation. I'm expecting to be back at the cars between 2:30-3pm.
Bring snacks and gels. Bathrooms are easily found. Bagel Shop stop at around Mile 16.
Obviously… not your typical "club ride". I'm very selective about the roads/paths I choose. Many will have a designated bike lane. A few will not. If you have a fear of heights, the RFK Bridge could be a real challenge. You can walk. We'll wait. The other bridges are much less scary.
This is a B+ ride ... not so much for the speed, but for the hills (bridges) and general confident bike handling skills required to navigate a variety of advanced cycling situations.
This is also an RSVP ride. Contact me (text) in advance if you plan to come. Provide me with your SBRA Member # and I'll sign you in.
The ride will be a "go" even if only one other rider is interested.
This Mel-O SUNDAY ride will use the same route as on the Monday rides except if the group agrees, we may do Pleasure Drive and the golf course road on the way to Wildwood Lake. The return from Wildwood Lake will be the same. This is a B+/A- ride where we will cruise at 19-23 mph. If we have a stiff wind at our backs we can push the limit a bit but not over 25 mph where applicable. Wait ups are as needed but the final one (if needed) will be at the intersection of Mill Rd, Connecticut, and HalseyManor (stop sign).
Join us for my inaugural Cutchogue ride lead! We'll leave fom Cutchogue Post Office parking lot (240 Griffing Street) and hit the towns of Peconic, Southold, Greenport, East Marion, Orient, Orient Point, Mattituck, Laurel and New Suffolk.
One rest stop at approx. halfway point at Orient Beach State Park (restrooms) and if needed, deli at the Orient Ferry dock. Optional: Coffee on the porch at Karen's Deli at ride end.
How about a roughly 100 Km metric century ride that takes us from one shining sea to the other! The ride includes visiting the Sound and the Ocean all in one ride. We did it once before and it was a fun time!
First we'll head out onto the North Fork, visiting the Tanks, before we make a stop at Briermere Farms. Then it's down County Road (CR) 105 through Riverhead. Then it's a run up CR 31, past the airport down to Westhampton Beach. After a ride on Dune Road to Cupsogue Beach and back, we'll head through Remsenberg and Eastport to the finish.
This will be a controlled paceline ride, where everyone works together like a team! Let's make this a no drop ride, so everyone can enjoy the ride!
Join me for this C ride, which will average 11.5 - 12.0; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.

M-OM, LAKE TOUR. The usual route (see below to view the link to the route map). Please keep in mind that this is a B+/A- ride that cruises at 20-23 mph and has an average speed around 20 mph, and no surging please.
Please check this site around 6 AM Monday morning to see if the ride is cancelled due to rain.
Update: The mileage has been increased to 30 miles
We'll meet in the overflow lot at the train station and meander our way to Bellport with some new turns added (to keep it interesting and fun).
Optional stop at the deli once we get into Bellport, or there's the option to go straight to the docks.
Please call/text me at 631-521-0688 in the event you plan on joining this ride so that I may contact you directly in the event I need to reschedule or cancel. In addition, any changes/cancellations will be posted here prior to 7:00 am the day of the ride.
