After passing it seemingly a million times, a number of us on Susan's Ice Cream ride investigated the outside restauant near the historical marker for the old submarine base in New Suffolk. Although not inexpensive, we decided it would be interesting to start a ride from near the restaurant (which is called Minnow at the Galley Ho) and after the ride have lunch at the Minnow.
So come join us for another Northforkin variation, this time starting in New Suffolk and heading out to Southold, back to Mattituck and on to New Suffolk, ending at the Minnow. The ride will feature some amazing vistas, a series of fun rollers and of course a few water views. A neat 37 miles or so.
Afterwards, anyone who is interested is welcome to hang for awhile and get a bite and try the food at the Minnow. Park on the Street leading to the submarine historical marker. The address of the Minnow is 650 1st Street, by the New Suffolk Waterfront.
Please bring snacks, sufficient hydration and, if joining the after ride lunch, money for food. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover.

Guest Speaker: SBRA Member Marc Reiser will be the guest speaker for the July 11th general meeting. Topic: Ride with GPS Discuss: How to get on to the club’s account, how to use the SBRA library, how to plan a route and how to save it to a device.

We'lll paceline along the cooling waterfront, through Eastport and Remsenberg to Westhampton Beach for a stop at the Beach Bakery at around 15 miles. Come join us for a Moriches exploration as we head down from Maples and ride around the Moriches exploring roads and dead ends with water views. All and all, 38 or so miles with lots and lots of turns (which should slow the average speed). This is a slight variation of a ride we introduced last summer with a few new turns and hopefully a surprise.
We will not be making a stop to buy lunch during the ride. However, there will be a number of scenic and other stops along the way, so please bring any food or snacks you may want or need as well as sufficient hydration. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover.

Rolling hills but nothing extreme. Should be a hot night-hydrate ahead of time. Mexican food afterwards if interested.
Rolling at 7:30 to avoid some heat. We will stop at the Exxon station for a short break at mile 27. This ride will include 24 51 & 111 on the way back. Bring 2 water bottles and they better contain something other than water-simple carbs and electrolytes are needed. An "A" ride in this heat is tough, so please save your move-up ride for another ride. If you have doubts or questions please text me with concerns. I hope you can get up a little early and join me for a fun spirited ride.

This will be a paceline ride out to Briermere Farms, where we'll stop for a muffin or a scone. The pace may be a little lower due to the heat...

This is a copy of an Old SBRA Route and I changed Start Location to St James General Store
Bringing back an old favorite route. If you share some of the memories of the large group rides out of VMP, or looking forward to creating new ones; this may be the ride. Short pulls keep the group together, but on Pleasure and the Tanks let it rip there will be waitups. Hope you'll come out and join me for this one. Link to download the route below. Special thanks to Jim Drago for the route.

This time we''ll leave the Veteran's Memorial Park in Calverton at 9:00 AM, for a paceline ride down Route 24 to Hampton Bays. We'll then have a stop there at around 18 miles, at the bagel shop.
The return leg takes us through Westhampton Beach, then up to County Roads 31 and 105. We finish-up with a run up Route 24 and back up Burman Boulevard to the Park.
Let's use those paceline skills and ride in a straight line, with a nice stable pace, so we can put up a decent average! AND remember, let's keep everyone together, so everyone gets home safe!
We will be doing a route to Patchogue. Think Woodside Ave, East direction only. I would like to come in between 14.2 and 14.9 mph., +/- a tad. In order to get this average road speeds will be between 14.5 and 16.5 mph. Expect down hills to be faster. Things could change slightly due to the road conditions and the wind. Going downhill, or with the wind at your back will be faster. The main objective is to finish the ride without being too concerned about the average. The average will depend mainly on the wind, the hills, and who shows up. We will stay together and there will be one or two break-a-ways for those who want. We will take a break at the Beach and a rest stop at Wertheim about mile 10. Pulls would be appreciated.
If you have any questions or concerns please text me at 631.484.3490. Should there be a cancelation, or change it will be posted by 7:15am.

Lots of people around now so be careful on Dune Road.....and everywhere. Many people walking and running so lets give them some room. Lots of people on the ride too so lets keep each other safe. Pay close attention to the road surface and those around you.
Try and keep it single file and close to the white line when no runners/walkers are about.
Lisa V is running the awesome B+ ride out of the Bellport shop.........check it out here.
We've gotten a restock on our Kreb Cycle kits from last year and some new kits might be here by Friday too.

Thanks again to all who patronize the shop..........., we know you have lots of options ...., with out you none of this happens.
