Please read Ron’s posting to get the general gist of this ride. The important thing; there will be food and drink. Perhaps this would be a good time to think of those less fortunate than us and bring a non-perishable food (human and/or animal) that will be donated to a local food pantry. Don’t forget to bring something for us to have after the ride as well.
As for the ride, let’s see which way the wind blows; we can go either to Manorville, Patchogue, Middle Island, Yaphank or Great River. That decision will be made the day of. The distance will be between 20 and 28 miles depending on where we go, the temps, and the wind.
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 to 15.0 mph, which will be determined by the roads, wind direction, and other conditions. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.5 mph. The wind and cold is just ruling our lives!
Due to the ever changing weather conditions this time of the year please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM if necessary. My cell phone number is 631-484-3490; call or text anytime if you have questions about this ride.
