OK, last week we had our first century training ride of 35 miles. This week we continue with a possible 41 mile ride from Eastport out to the Ponquogue Bridge along Dune Road. The length of the ride will be adjusted based on weather conditions.
My preference is to go long rather than worry about the pace; therefore, I believe it will be a SLOW B. Once again, as we all know, wind will be a factor, and I for one am still getting my riding legs back. There will be plenty of time to increase the pace before the century.
Last week a number of faster riders came along and were wonderful about maintaining a reasonable pace. We also did what I call a modified pace line.
There will be a brief bathroom stop at mile 15 and a longer stop at the Beach Bakery near the end of the ride.
