Thursday 7:15am update - roads wet here and some lingering showers, but looks like it is moving out here.  Will delay start to 9:30am.  I will be at the ride start then and we'll see what we can do!

Please note:  This ride leaves from Port Jefferson Home Goods...not Stony Brook.

PARKING:  Meet near the clothing donation drop bins (on the eastern side of the center) where there are plenty of parking spots.  I will be riding from home, but will be at the ride start @ 8:45am for sign in.  

We'll head to Poquott, Strong's Neck, Old Field and West Meadow.  Back via Lower Sheep Pasture.  So...there are hills, but wait ups as needed and places to stretch your legs if you wish.  Will look to come in @ 13.5, given the hills.

Please bring snacks and water...there is no formal deli/rest break but we will take short breaks at both the Lighthouse and West Meadow (bathrooms may be closed at West Meadow, but there is a port-o-potty).

Any changes will be posted here by 7:45am.

9/12, 12:30pm update:  Looking at the late afternoon forecast, I’m not willing to risk riding in the rain and diminished daylight.   So… am moving this ride to Thursday morning, leaving Port Jefferson Station.  Details will be updated tonight.  

Leave work a little early...and join us as we travel scenic backroads thru the Stonybrook-Setauket area: historic places, great views, great sunsets, great folks. We are a diverse group out for an enjoyable ride and fun nite.  There are places to stretch your legs ahead and wait ups after climbs.  But please note this is not a "race ride".  Apres ride dinner.

PLEASE - bring/use lights if you have them.  And wear bright clothing.  We'll squeeze another evening ride in with a slightly earlier start time. But sunset is earlier and the roads we ride have lots of shady trees that add to the diminished daylight, so bring and where whatever hi-vis gear you have.  And we will cut out West Meadow, given the daylight. 

PARKING NOTE:  School and work is back in full swing and parking may be tight at the RR lot.  If you don't see a spot, exit the lot and go right.  Park behind Sterling National Bank (just west of the RR lot and Quaker Path traffic light).   

Check ride calendar for any changes or cancellations by 4:00pm the day of ride.
