Details (RL read field instructions carefully):
This is a long ride, with several stops, as well as a lunch stop at Braun's sea food in Cutchogue, so plan your day accordingly. This ride will be changed if the wind is strong, the change could be a shortening of the ride, or a different ride altogether, so it is vital that you check the ride calendar for changes by 07:15am day of ride. From Riverhead we will head out along the scenic Peconic Bay, with a bathroom (porta-potty) stop at mile nine. There will be several very quick scenic stops with water views on our way to a deli in Cutchogue (mile 16) where we will take a short stop for coffee, etc. and a real bathroom. We continue Northward with views of farms and vineyards on our way to a view of the L.I. Sound. We than head South to Nassau Point and its views and rolling hills. Note: if you do not wish to do the hills, you can hang out at the beach and we will pick you up about 15 minutes later on our return to the beach. We than ride on for some views off Indian Neck road before heading back to Cutchogue to Braun's Sea Food. Braun's is a self service take out restaurant with plenty of outdoor picnic tables, their chowders, wraps, etc. are excellent. If you don't want lunch, in the same parking lot is Scoops and Grinds, where the ice cream is wonderful, and so are their coffees. Both stores have bathrooms. We than return to Riverhead. For info: call/ text Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Note: Park in the public lot along the riverfront, go to the end of the lot (you will see a building under construction). Closest street is McDermott. Ride speed will be a low end C+/B-.
