An important message from Dan Flanzig, Esq. below -- and you can help!

Dear SBRA Members:
I am working with Greg from Brookhaven Bike Co-op and Legislator Hahn to pass a County law that institutes a three foot rule— meaning that cars are supposed to pass at least three feet from bicyclists.
I was hoping to enlist your help in this effort. There is a public hearing scheduled for December 1.
What we need is to have bike riders (club members), contact their respective County Legislators before December 1st saying you support a three foot rule.
CLICK HERE for a list of the 18 Suffolk County Legislators contact information and the towns that they serve.
Please call and email your most local legislator and tell them that you want this proposed County law.
We have been told that calls are more effective.
The law is Introductory Resolution 1830-2020, "A Local Law to ensure the Safety of Bicyclists in Suffolk County,”
It will be before the full Legislature for a public hearing on Tuesday, December 1st at 2pm.
Thank you for your help with this important effort.
