Come join me for my first official ride as an SBRA Leader (but don't worry I have been a ride leader for 15 years with the 5BBC before moving out east).
This ride is a shorter, mostly flat (though there are some slight climbs near the end of the ride) variation of rides exploring out of the Bridgehampton LIRR Station (park on the west side of station). There is free parking at the Bridgehampton station and if filled there are lots around the corner on Montauk Highway. Ride starts at 10:15 to allow time to get to Bridgehampton.
We will head out on a journey that includes beautiful riding, amazing vistas, beaches, some incredible homes (and quite a number of monstrosities), a few dead ends where we can ohh and ahh at the end, a hidden cove and did I mention water views.
Overall, we will be running much of the ride as more of a tour, enjoying the scenery, surroundings and views, nonetheless riders should be able to maintain at least 15-16 mph on the flats when necessary (like our short interludes on Montauk Highway).
We will not be making a stop to buy food during the ride, so, please bring lunch, snacks and sufficient hydration. There is an optional ice cream stop at the end of the ride for those who are interested. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover.
To join the ride or if you have questions, please text Bill Mastro at 917-921-5358. If joining the ride, please forward your full name, SBRA number, cell number and your emergency contact. Any updates or weather issues will be posted to the ride listing by 7:30 on the day of the ride.
