NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Leave the Manorville King Kullen to ride with the John Shea Early Birds Group. This week will be the Early Birds South course. Short stop near the mid point.
This will be an unstructured pacline ride, but we will try to keep the group together.
Come ride with Bruce as we do the "South Loop". We will ride to Cupsogue Beach to see the sights as they jog by. Cameras and/or binoculars may be brought for further sight clarification. With the predicted weather getting to a high of 80 degrees, I expect that we will not be disappointed in our sight seeing adventures. A sweep will be happily provided.
Depending on who shows up, we may split the group.
We will go the usual route through Connetquot Park and then do a loop in Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit. The route is mostly flat with 2 little hills. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5. & 15.0 mph, depending on the wind and other factors. Naturally the road speed will be slightly higher to produce the average.
We will be making a food/rest stop somewhere between miles 15 and 20. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:45AM if necessary.
My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start.
Hilly route to Shoreham bagel lady through Port Jeff, Mt Sinai, Rocky Point; return along Whiskey Rd and Canal. Group stays together. Expected average 14-14.5
Leave at 10AM. Lunch in Southhampton at La Parmigana 917-797-7873.
The Riverhead to Mattituck ride was changed to this ride because Tom informed of the Strawberry Festival in Mattituck -causing overwhelming automobile traffic.
Let's get in a quick ride so that the dads will have the rest of the day to get their well deserved relaxation! Bring snacks and some water...sorry Henry and John, no hot dogs today! The restrooms in the park will be open.
I'll post any changes/cancellation by 7:30 AM Sunday morning in the event the ride needs to be cancelled due to weather conditions.
Feel free to call me at 631-793-8298 regarding any questions you might have regarding the ride!
SORRY-I'm cancelling today, hopefully in enough time for you to find another ride to do. I seem to have come down with a virus with fever and don't want to wait to see if I could ride tomorrow (what did mom always say- 24 hours without a fever! LOL) so will do this ride another time. Happy Father's Day.
Looks like a nice day to head to the beach for a brief stop before coming home to any Father's Day plans. Park in the lot across from Kreb Cycle. We will make a stop at 7-11 for those who want to buy a snack to take to the beach. Make sure to use sunscreen and bring drinks. Cell phone 516-330-1542. Pace may go up to low B- (13.2) but will adjust to the needs of the group.
