Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

It’s off to Manorville. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.7 to 15.0 mph +/ depending on the roads, wind direction and other conditions which could put the ride in the lower part of a "B". Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 12. There are a few places along the route where leg stretches can be done for those who wish. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM, if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start.
Come out and join me for a ride from Bellport to the Beach. We will make a stop at the 7/11 and/or deli for a snack, if you want to bring one to our break at the beach. This is a C+ ride, which will average 12.2 - 12.7, depending on the wind and the riders. There will be cue sheets and no one gets left behind. Cell Phone Number: 631-523-2129
See the many beaches of this Southold hamlet on mostly tree shaded and lightly traveled roads. The route is mostly flat but has some rolling hills near the end of the ride on Soundview Avenue. After the ride we can pick up food at a Southold deli and have lunch at Founders Landing park. Please bring pocket food for our break.
For all you fast B- or B riders who want to pick your speed up a little bit. This will be just like your normal Ride, except a little faster. If anyone wants to paceline there will be a spot, but there is no obligation to do so. There will be water breaks and a couple of short stretches at a slower pace so everyone can catch their breath.
Ride changed to Wednesday 6/17/2015 at 4pm. Rain is forcing me to reschedule this ride for tomorrow, same time same place. Late afternoon Stony Brook hilly ride. Pace will come in in the 14's or low 15's. Being called a B ride even if we do not average the 15-16mph B level, as the hills will slow us down. Mostly country roads, water views and hills.
Meet in public lot across from Flo's. Wheels down at 5:30. Newbies always welcome. Average pace a bit slower than the Tasmanian Devil, about 11-12 or as fast as the slowest rider. (Depending on wind and tide). Any cancellation by 4PM.
RIDE UPDATE - TUESDAY 2:00PM - THE LATEST FORECAST IS SHOWING A 80-100% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS BETWEEN 6PM AND 7PM. IT COULD BE TOTALLY WRONG BUT I'M GOING TO PLAY IT SAFE AND RESCHEDULE THE RIDE FOR WEDNESDAY. For this week I'm going to deviate from the usual route. The start of the ride will be the usual ride through East Islip up to Union Blvd. From there we will take Union Blvd all the way out to the West Bay Shore/Brightwaters areas. We will return back along Union Blvd and, time permitting, we may stop at Islip Beach. Mileage is approximate, could end up as high as 25-27. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 3:30PM. If ride is cancelled it may be rescheduled for Wednesday.
This ride will be based on the riders that show up. Hoping to end at the high end of C+/B- No one left behind. Wheels hit the ground at 5:30 sharp. Meet at the parking lot East of Flo's in Bluepoint. Steve 631\379-7562
