Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

All the good stuff! 51 backwards then head to Pleasure Drive and MRB for our first stop. (34 miles in). Then the tanks..backwards! Stop at the Exxon Station for a quick break the will head up Edwards to 51, 111 and back.
Make sure your bike is in repair or bring a cell phone. I can only help with flats.
This is a training ride, not a race so I want to keep the pace around 20 mph. The Charlie Birds and Early Birds offer faster and slower rides.
I am starting this ride a bit earlier to hopefully get a headstart on the wind which should be in our face on the way out. We will make a food stop in Sayville and use the restrooms in DD. We will take a quick break at the deli in West Islip to refill our water bottles and a snack. Any changes will be made by 6:00 AM
Due to the forecast for 40 + mile an hour wind gusts tomorrow I am moving the ride to Sunday. Same start time , same route.
I chose this ride so that we will not be that far from our cars if the weather turns on us. We can do a couple of loops on the trail (10 miles each), stop at Bean and Bagel, loop up to Sound Ave. and back, and do another loop South of the trails. Bring rain gear just in case. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes or cancellation, which would be posted by 06:45am.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride, if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5 & 15.0 +/- mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 16.5 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns.
We’ll be making a rest stop around mile 19 at the deli/bakery. The route back will be determined by the wind direction. Good Stuff after the Ride. Not sure what good stuff; it's always a surprise.
Any cancellations due to unforeseeable circumstances, or weather related problems will be posted by 7:30am. If you have any questions about this ride, or the start location, please call or text my cell, 631-484-3490.
We will be leaving Bank of American in East Islip heading to Great River and East Islip area. Then we will head to Bohemia and stop at McDonalds around mile 23 for our break. Any questions call Mike at 516 448-8545
This is a B- ride with an average speed of 15 mph, road speeds may reach 17-19mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:30am day of ride.
Heading east to Ridge then south to Yaphank, looping around Ridge Rd. to Gerard & back. A quick rest stop, TBD. Check in for any changes, my cell 631 922-0632. Station Plaza, park on the side lot of TJMax (no longer Pathmark now Shop Rite)
Get off your butt and go on this 17-20 mile easy C pace ride. Average 10.5-11.5mph. NOBODY gets dropped and Newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be by 9:00am. Route depends on wind (to Patchogue/Oakdale or Holtsville/Ronkonkoma). Slowest rider sets the pace. Bring a snack and water.
