Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Fast paced A ride. Cruise 22-24 mph. This is flat for 45 miles so the pace will be quick. The roads are straight, fast and wide. Amanda might be posting a tag a long so if this seems too fast please check her ride. If the group is as large as last week we will ask one of the ride leaders to help out and recieve ride leader credit. Then you can ride your speed.
Please down load the route or become familiar with it. Last week was a lot of fun so hopefully we can do it again!
Final average pace will be more than the Charlie Birds but less than the Early Birds!
This is a tag-a-long to Jim's ride. Average pace will be between 18-19 mph. Roads are straight, fast and wide. We'll start with Jim's ride, so anyone that wants to try his and needs to drop back is welcome to join my group. If the groups are too large, we'll ask one of the other ride leaders to help out.
Looking forward to a ride as good as this past Sunday!! Brian... don't forget your $$$!
Leaving the bank we will be heading to Wertheim. Our food stop will be at the Bellport Deli. Depending on the weather & route this ride may be a few miles more or less than posted.
This is a B- ride with an average speed of 14.5 to 15 mph, road speeds may reach 17-19mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:00am day of ride. Any questions call Mike at 516 448-8545
Today's’ route will be similar to the Great River route with some added mileage, and a few changes. The changes will bring us through Islip Terrace or East Islip; it will all depend on the wind. The route is pretty flat except for an overpass, here and there.
We will go the usual route, heading south, using the Connetquot Park bike path. We’ll work our way through the Islip’s then down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5 & 15.0 +/- mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.0 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns.
We’ll be making a bathroom break around mile 21. The rest stop around mile 27 will be the deli/bakery. The route back will be determined by the wind direction. Good Stuff after the Ride. Not sure what good stuff; it's always a surprise.
Any cancellations due to unforeseeable circumstances, or weather related problems will be posted by 7:30am. If you have any questions about this ride, or the start location, please call or text my cell, 631-484-3490.
Ride start changed to Riverhead Senior Center due to an event in downtown Riverhead. This is a long ride, with several stops, as well as a lunch stop at Braun's sea food in Cutchogue, so plan your day accordingly. This ride will be changed if the wind is strong, the change could be a shortening of the ride, or a different ride altogether, so so it is vital that you check the ride calendar the day of the ride by 07:15 am. From Riverhead, we will head out along the scenic Peconic Bay, with viewing and bathroom stops. At mile 16 we will stop at a deli in Cutchogue for coffee/tea and a real bathroom. We will than head North, viewing farms and vineyards on our way to a viewing stop of the L.I. Sound. We than head South to Nassau Point and its views and rolling hills. Note: if you want to skip the hills, you can hang out at the beach and we will pick you up about 15 minutes later. We than ride on for some views along Indian Neck Road before heading back to Cutchogue to Braun's Sea Food. This is a self-service take out setup with plenty of shaded, outdoor seating. Their chowders and wraps are excellent. Adjacent to Braun's is Scoops and Grinds, the icecream is worth the ride. Both stores have real bathrooms. We than return to Riverhead. Note: Parking is in the public lot along the riverfront, go to the end of the lot (you will see a building under construction). The closest street is McDermot. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036.
This ride is on, not cancelled. I was changing the starting point to the Riverhead Senior Center and hit the cancel button instead of the change button. See the cancelled ride for all other information.
