NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

M.O.M will be a B+ ride. We cruise around 19-21 with an avg of 18-19. The ride will stay together and the last wait up will be at the Connecticut/Mill/Halsey Manor intersection on the way back. A rest stop at mile 22 at Wildwood lake. If you cannot do a B+ ride then check out Gary Ristau's ride which is an A- ride and may fit your ability. Gary's ride will leave 15 min after mine, at 8:45. There are a couple of detours which will be discussed before the ride start.
Meet at The Maples for another Manorville to Mattituck ride. We'll take advantage of the predicted mild weather and winds to do a 50 mile ride.
This will be a moderate-paced paceline ride, where we work together as a team. Let's make sure that no one is dropped, so everyone can enjoy the ride!
On the way East, we'll ride out along the North Fork and (yes) we'll hit The Tanks. We'll then continue to Mattituck, where we'll stop at the Goldberg's Bagel shop.
The return takes us along Peconic Bay Boulevard and Hubbard Avenue to Riverhead. Then it's up Route 24 and River / Old River Roads to the finish.
Don't miss-out on a chance to get some miles in, before Fall takes-over!
Come join us for a new variation on the East End Ride series, as we head up to Springs and the scenic area by Gerard's Point. We will head out on a journey that includes beautiful riding, amazing vistas, and the scenic inlet by Gerad's Point, and did I mention water views. Weekday Southfork rides, like this one, start at the Hampton Bays LIRR train station (there is free parking) to avoid as much as possible the morning trade parade traffic jam that exists during the morning rush beyond Hampton Bays.
Overall, we will be running much of the ride as more of a tour, enjoying the scenery, surroundings and views; nonetheless, riders should be able to maintain at least 15-16 mph on the flats when necessary (like our interludes on Montauk Highway). Our ride ends at the Amaganset train station, where we will take the train back to Hampton Bays. Train ride is supposed to be a bit over 35 minutes. Please bring funds for the train ticket and a bungee cord to hang your bike.
We will be making a brief stop where one can hopefully buy some food (not sure it is open), so, its a good idea to bring some food, snacks and sufficient hydration. We will make a few stops where one will have time for a quick snack or sandwich, but we will have an eye to make sure we make our return train. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover.
To join the ride or if you have questions, please text Bill Mastro at 917-921-5358. Registraion may have to be limited, as we don't want to overwhelm the train on the return trip. I will share the final (I'm always tweaking) ridewithgps file with those who contact me. Any updates or weather issues will be posted to the ride listing by 7:00 on the day of the ride.
Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 11.7 - 12.6; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will most likely head to Blue Point, where we will tahe our break; there will be a bathroom stop.
The number of riders is limited, so if you want to ride text me (631-523-2129) with your Name, SBRA Member Number and Emergency Contact phone number. I will respond to your text and let you know if you have a spot on the ride. Once the ride is filled, I will change to post to indicate that.
