Their pace will be in the B- to B class according to SBRA guidelines so no pressure. Just a nice casual Sun morn ride to a very different destination. Should make for great group pic!!
**I am not sure if we will have the opportunity to buy food/drink along the way so please bring enough with you. I suggest two water bottles and some power bars/GU packs/etc.
How many times have you driven on the Cross Island Pkwy and wondered what it would be like to ride your bike along the causeway to the Throgs Neck Bridge??? Well - now's your chance. Casual Sunday morning ride to the park under the bridge (rest stop). Some hills but nothing crazy. No one gets dropped.

Experience Cedar Beach in two ways today. Bring your bike and your kayak or paddle board for a multi-level day of fun in the sun! We will pedal at 9am. After the ride, we will picnic on site (bring your own snacks, lunch and beverages, chairs etc.). Around 1pm we will launch our kayaks or paddle boards around the Mt. Sinai Harbor. I'm willing to share if you don't have one. We have arranged security for both kayacs and bikes while we play. However, bring locks for your bikes. Also you are welcome to participate in only one of the sports, just plan around the above basic time frame. Check in for any updates to the plans. Changes will be posted by 7 AM. My cell 6319220632
Experience Cedar Beach in two ways today. Bring your bike and your kayak or paddle board for a multi-level day of fun in the sun! We plan to start biking at 9:00am and will ride to Cedar Beach. Distance will depend on the group and the weather but will be between 17-20 miles. The first several miles are hilly, then basically flat after that. Following the bike ride, we'll have a lunch break around 11:30 (bring your own lunch and drink in a cooler). Around 1 PM we'll launch our kayaks or paddle boards and paddle around Mt. Sinai Harbor for about 2 hours. Bring sunscreen, equipment for both sports, including a lock for your bike. We have arranged for security for the kayaks and bikes while we are out. Also people are welcome to participate in only one of the sports, just plan around the above basic time frame. Check in for any updates to the plans. Changes will be posted by 7 AM. Call my cell with any questions.
Depending on wind, tide and position of moon we will ride approx. 20 miles at an 10.8-11.7 average speed. As always newbies always welcome and NOBODY gets left behind. So get off your butt, put down the TV remote and lets ride for some exercise. Cancellation for any reason will be posted by 8:00AM. Cookies at the rides end?
Bring water and snacks with you as route is not determined until lift off.
Bandit, we have a run out east to Briermere Farms, to pickup a load of pies. So, let's meet-up at the South Street School for a paceline ride out east, with a return heading down to the southern return loop. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to try-out some new pavement.
We'll keep the convoy together, so no one gets dropped and caught by Smokey. :)
Today’s route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride, if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park and do a loop there where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired.
The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5 & 15.0 mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 16.0 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns.
We’ll be making a rest stop around mile 19 and the deli/bakery unless you want to go to McDonalds or Starbucks at mile 25. The route back will be determined by the wind direction. After the ride there will be GOOD stuff.
Please DO NOT Park in the Meat Farms parking lot.
Any changes will be posted no later than 7:30am, if necessary. My cell phone number is 631-484-3490; call or text anytime if you have questions or need directions to the ride start...Thanks Bobby
