Minor route changes due to road paving. This is an A- paced ride. Trevor's/Bagel Ride is a faster ride. It starts at the Port Jefferson Bagel Shop at 7:30. Our ride at 9:00 should be a brisk pace club ride not the Shoot Out at the OK Corral. If you find yourself pulling above 24 you're going too fast. Thanks in advance for respecting the post
One 7-11 stop with some occasional regroups. Hope to see you there.
A mid B- pace to Netties at mile 23 via some scenic byroads. Fairly flat course, speed depends on who turns up, might be faster might be slower. Wait ups as needed. No one abandoned.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride - if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. Pulling is appreciated! I would like to keep the road speed between 17 & 18 mph and come in at an average between 15 and 16.
Scenic Tour of Artist's Colony and environs. I am downsizing this ride to accommodate any person new to riding or rehabbing from an issue. We can do more or less than the description. The area offers options. I can promise an exquisite ride and an interest8ng experience. I apologize for any disappointment this may cause.
Scenic ride through the Hamptons. Last weekend my scenic ride went from Westhampton to Southampton. This weekend we will start in Southampton and venture east to Amagansett. Route will take us through some of the nicest streets in the Hamptons. We'll also pass by the famous Coopers Beach, St Andrews Dune Church, Maidstone CC and Shinnecock Hills CC. Rest stops as needed. Possible stop at Tate's Bake Shop in Southampton (they make the best cheesecake brownies :-)).
Pack adequte hydration/food and possibly some $$ for a food stop.

We'll launch from our temporary ride start location of Dayton Avenue School for a ride to Cupsogue Beach. The route takes us through Eastport and Remsenberg to that old favorite Dune Road and a stop at Cupsogue. The return takes us up the Casa Basso and back through Eastport to eventually Harts Road and the finish.
IF, it appears to be too windy or cold, we can cut off Dune Road. But then we'll only be riding 28 miles.
So dust-off the winter clothes and full finger gloves and let's ride! We'll try to keep on riding through winter !!!
***THE RIDE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A TRUE "B" PACELINE RIDE***
We will be starting a bit later to steal a few extra degrees.
Let's head out to Netties where we can enjoy their great pastries and coffee. There are multiple places inside and out. If we're lucky we should see the nice people on Susan's ride leaving from Veterans Park there.
Most of the routes out of Southaven to Netties go up and down the inlets on the South Shore, that are beautiful in the Summer but are freezing and windy in cold weather. We will stay north of Montauk Hwy the entire ride.
It's gonna be too cold for an Orient Point ride this Sunday, so let's do more local roads and neighborhoods (and a few less miles) in order to stay warm! It's the off-season, after all.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride - if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. CHANGE: Due to the forecast of high winds, I have changed the start location and we will ride on the back roads around Sayville, and do our best to stay out of direct wind. This is a C+ ride, which will average 12.0 - 12.5; the exact route will be determined at the start, so there willnot be a cue sheet for this ride.

Attention roadies: Time to dust off the mountain/fat bike during colder weather. Regular MTBers will not need to dust of the bikes. One plus laps at Calverton is a good warm up for the season. Call me if you have questions. Hope to see you there.
9:30 AM START!
Wait ups as needed. Distance may vary.
Check this post Monday morning for any changes/updates.
For this Flat ride the Average speed is 11.5-12.5mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition with a distance of 18-23 miles. Nobody gets left behind and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be before 9:00am. No need to text me.

We ride out from Bellport following some usual roads, but then go for a bit for a Mastic Meander taking the longer way to Osprey Point with lots of turns. From there, we head north, pass by the airport, head to River Road and then up to Yaphank, before heading back south to Bellport. All and all, a neat 35 miles that combines areas with many turns with long stretches of riding. Long-term forecast seems decent with winds abating somewhat. Ride will likely come in at the high end of C+/B- (if it wasn't for all the turns might have been a B-).
Ride starts at 10:00 to get some warmth into the day. We will not be making a stop to buy food/lunch during the ride, but there will be stops along the way, so please bring any food/snacks you may want or need as well as sufficient hydration. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover.
To join the ride or if you have questions, please text Bill Mastro at 917-921-5358. FYI, I usually send the final ridewithgps file to yhose who contact me. Any updates or weather issues will be posted to the ride listing by 7:30 on the day of the ride.
