Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. Let's start February off with a ride from the fire house to Nettie's where we will take our break. Either outside at one of their picnic tables or inside their wood stove heated cabins.
Easier winter paceline ride, everyone stays together. Keep at the back if you're not comfortable pulling.
Nothing Like starting February with a ride to the beach and a couple of good slices! Park in the rear of the lot across from Little Vincents. Restrooms at the beaches are currently closed. This ride is about half flat and half rolling. We’ll take the hills at whatever pace is needed, so no need to worry if you need a little work. The hills keep you warm and cut the wind while you get rare views of the McMansions and the water in the winter. Join us for arguably one of LI’s best slices (cash only) after the ride.
Sunday Goldburgs Bagels Run from Yaphank to Westhampton. New modified route. No More MTK HWY in Moriches, gonna take Forwein rd to MTK HWY. No more going the wrong way on One Way Road in Westhampton. We will now go to Dune Rd so everyone can Have At it!
On return back we will hit Flower rd instead of the return back on Moriches rd. These changes should be much improved.
Off to Nettie's for their wonderful baked goods, or soup and a roll. Nettie's has both indoor and outdoor tables. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 08:00am.
We'll skip CR83N until the end but do all of the Ridges and maybe some other BDs before CR83N.
Text me at 631-988-6557 if you plan to ride with me and I will wait at the start if you're running late otherwise if no one contacts me we may start riding early!
Check back to this posting before leaving for the ride as Life Happens and Things Change.
We will be leaving Bank of America and head to Great River and East Islip for a 24 mile ride. The ride will be at a B- pace with an average speed of around 14.5 to 15 mph and road speeds that will reach 16 to 18 mph.
