    Suggestion for ride update posts

    I have a suggestion for the Forum structure due to an more organized structure and more intuitive/organized ???? (or do I ask for too much, as this will be again different from old school web site....) way to post these updates, for last minute changes, weather and so on...:

    a) I like to have all rides, way ahead planned or impromptu or such [NO MESSAGE BOARD/BLOG/ETC RIDE POSTS PLEASE -- WILL BE REMOVED/ENFORCED BY MODERATOR]... (we do not need to differentiate any longer), posted via
    *** Navigation Menu: -> "Rides -> Lead a ride"

    b) These can be viewed via the "Ride Calendar" (Accessible from Primary Menu on Top) or presented as a table view via
    *** Navigation Menu: -> "Rides"

    Alright, you got this I think. Now please listen, there is the feature that every "Ride" listed in b) can have it's own discussion (Comments), that works exactly in the same way as the Forum, so the "Ride" post is the Main initial Post Topic. Said that, this is an excellent way to put any additional post "Ride posted" informations, like updates, weather, cancelations, changes. Even the ride date/time and info body can be edited by the ride leader (submitter of the ride), I would suggest IN ADDITION to post an comment about update done. Additional comments can be attached by any one.

    Now, to not get you lost in finding and watching out for all this updates (you may wonder how to find it, see it, etc.), all you need to do, navigate to "Rides" (b) to list all "Upcoming Rides", the very right column will show a link to the comments (if any), like this one I just posted to my ride:

    CLick on Ride Title/or Date... to find the corresponding posts and comments!

    b*) I added a new field "Status" to the ride data base, here the ride status can and should be set if any change to get attention (use "edit" and select the status you want all below)!

    c) So I propose the removal of "Ride Announcement Updates" Road and MTB sub Forums. And encourage NOT to post ride updates within main Forum area or as blog.

    What do you think?
