Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

The plan is to complete the first loop to Floyd north, past King Kullen, and around the jets at 20mph; more commonly known as, "the Drago warm-up."
When we get to Grumman, we can pick it up a bit in route to our glorious food stop: the Exxon gas station.
From there, buckle up for 24/51/111.
Once we hit Halsey Manor Road, we'll cut it back to 20mph for the remainder of the ride; more commonly known as, "the Drago cool-down" (although it never actually happened,)
I know, the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry; but sometimes they don’t.I hope to see you there.
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to Smith’s Point. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there. The route on the way back may change depending on the wind.
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 to 15.0 mph+/-, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.0 mph. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack for the stop along the way.

(Intrepid Tag Along ride leader, Alley Gonzalez is still on hiatus)
This is the companion ride to the long-running Kreb "A" Ride. We now start 5 minutes after the “A” ride. This week, we go East to The Maples. I expect this week’s ride average to be a little slower (probably 18.5) because I’m recovering from a vehicle vs. bike mishap on Wed.
We do scheduled wait-ups (and as necessary), in addition to one brief rest stop halfway through ride. Please bring adequate drinks and nutrition, as the rest stop occurs in a parking lot (no food/drinks/restrooms available).
Please park your car in the Bellport Municipal Parking Lot located at Bellport Lane & Bell Street, and then ride bike half a block over to the Kreb Bike Shop parking lot at 10 Bell Street, to sign-in for ride and hear the pre-ride briefing.
Let's give the Bartlets a try again. They offer a bit of a challenge for poor hill climbers like me, but if we push on through this ride a few times we should get stronger. Although, I must say, it hasn't worked for me yet, but I haven't given up trying. So, come on out and suffer with me. The pace will be a B- until we hit the hills then it will be at whatever pace you can do and there will be a wait-up for me at the end of the Bartlets. We will take a short break at the golf course. Coffee, eggs, rolls, etc. are available or bring your own snack. Cancelations or changes will be posted by 730 am.
Changed to Maples Bar ride start Easy C+ ride no one left behind if temperature is hot the pace will be slower rest stop at Bean & Bagel Questions call cell 631-484-1650 before 7pm or after 7am.
Out to Manorville at a lower B/b+ pace(16-16.5 average) Please check the morning of the ride in case I change the ride to an earlier start due to heat.
Thanks to Bill Gravitz for introducing SBRA to the beautiful Grumman trail that we will be biking on our ride this morning. This fully paved trail is a mixture of flats, slight downhills, small uphills and NO CARS! We will bike at a slow 8-10 mile pace, enjoying the scenic green spaces of the Grumman acreage. After doing a 10 mile loop, we will bike approximately 2-3 miles to Bean and Bagel for our break and 2-3 miles back to our cars. Approximately two miles of this ride will be on the regular roadway.
Remember to bring your helmet, two water bottles and please get those tires at the correct pressure before you come to ride! Correct pressure is imprinted on the side of each tire.
Questions before day of ride, my email is (frchtchr@hotmail.com). Morning of ride, my cell is 631-835-1454. Cancellation due to weather will be posted no later than 7 morning of ride.
Change – 9:30pm, Fri.It looks like Jupiter is aligned with Mars. The ride is now 39 miles. Good wind and good weather. We will be taking Dune Road to the Eastern end and over the bridge.
We did this ride last month so let’s do it again. We’ll be taking a scenic ride through Eastport, Remsenburg and Westhampton Beach. The average pace will be between 14.5 and 15.0 mph. +/- depending on the wind, road conditions, geese, ducks, squirrels, rabbits and that stray goat you see every once in a while. Road speed will be between 15 & 17 mph. There will be a short break-a-way for those who want along Dune Road. Around mile 33 we’ll stop at the Beach Bakery for some goodies and a bathroom break before heading back to the start.
My cell number is 631.484.3490; call or text anytime if you have questions about this ride, or need directions to the start. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30am if necessary.

This is a C ride, which will average 10.5 - 11.5, depending on the wind, ride leaders disposition and the riders. Cookies at rides end for those who make it back!
Starting wit a flat warm up (18-20 mph pace on the flats). Then we hit the hills of Miller Pl. Mt. Sinai & Port Jeff. with some loops & repeats. Wait ups on the hills & long climbs. A rest stop at Tiger Lilly's in PJ. My cell 631 922-0632 Park on side lot by TJMax off Canal RD.

East Islip BoA to the famous Copenhagen Bakery in Northport where we will have our food/rest stop. This ride is posted as a B/B+ due to effort required for some of the hills, however, average speed will come in more like a "B" level ride. We will cover the Vanderbilt rollers as well as the hills in Northport, Fort Solonga, Kings Park and Smithtown. These hills are very managable - nothing crazy.
No one gets dropped. Wait-up's at the top of each hill. Water breaks as needed.
Please call my cell number below if you have any questions.
Come join me for a nice B- ride to Bellport Docks, I am going to keep this ride at a B- group ride. There is no sense pushing it with temperatures close or in 90's. We can stop at the Bellport Deli for a snack and then meet at the docks, or some of us can go straight to the dock to get a nice bench seat.
This will be a tag along with Brian's ride. Opportunity to try a new level as you can always drop back if feeling uncomfortable. We will stop at Bagel Shop for snack. Any questions call me at 516-557-4100
We'll take off from Sunshine Mall, stopping at McDonalds on 111 in Manorville (we'll enter the parking lot by making a left onto Chapman Blvd then a right into the lot). Sprint section on 111 if so desired.
This is an A- ride and the speeds will be between 18-21. We will keep the group together and anyone that wants to ride faster can post a companion ride. I am looking to come in on the lower end of the average range.
Easy C+ ride no one left behind if temperature is hot the pace will be slower rest stop at Briermere Questions call cell 631-484-1650 before 7pm or after 7am.
Today's’ route will be similar to the Great River route with some added mileage, and a few changes. The changes will bring us through Islip Terrace or East Islip; it will all depend on the wind. The route is pretty flat except for an overpass, here and there.
We will go the usual route, heading south, using the Connetquot Park bike path. We’ll work our way through the Islip’s then down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5 & 15.0 +/- mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.0 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns.
We’ll be making a bathroom break around mile 21. The rest stop around mile 27 will be the deli/bakery. The route back will be determined by the wind direction. Good Stuff after the Ride. Not sure what good stuff; it's always a surprise.
Come on my C paced ride of 18-22 miles at 10.6-11.6mph. Newbies always welcome and nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 8:30am. Park on North side of RR at end of road. Bring water and a snack as route will be determined at ride start due to wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition.
We will loop around the Grumman Trail, and do loops both North and South of the trail. A good part of the Grumman Trail is shaded and free of cars. Our break will be at Bean and Bagel. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar for changes, which would be posted by 06:30am, day of ride.
This will be an easy 41 miles. The plan is to keep it at or below the posted A- ride classification--19 to 20mph. Your legs will thank me for it. I hope to see you there.
Easy C+ ride no one left behind if temperature is hot the pace will be slower rest stop at Bean & Bagel Questions call cell 631-484-1650 before 7pm or after 7am.
This is my first ride after cutting my leg open 2 weeks ago, so I am taking it slow and easy today. Come along and join me for this C pace ride around parts of Stony Brook and St. James, on some newly paved roads, and the ride will average 11.7 - 12.0.
We will stop for a break at St. James Bagels (food and bathroom available).
Ride Sayville to Bellport with loops to the water in Sayville and Patchogue. Note the earlier 5:00 PM start time. We will need to take short breaks to keep the ride in daylight. Lights are a good idea. Moderate to Brisk B- pace. Leave at 5 pm sharp.
Same ride speed as the last two weeks, but as our average creeps up, I am upping to B-. IF IT IS AS HOT AS LAST WEEK, CHECK BACK MONDAY EVENING FOR EARLIER START TIME.
We are doing a low B- average, about 15 on the flats and whatever we can manage on the hills. On hills, it's each cyclist for himself, no need to "keep up" with the leader. We meet up at the end of our climbs and take a breather/drink as necessary.
B- to the lighthouse in Oldfield and West Meadow Beach. Rest stop/ bathroom break at the beach
Get your hill practice served many different ways by the hills of the Three Villages. Our break is at West Meadow Beach; bring your own snack. Bathroom stop at the beach. On the non-hills, we expect to cruise at mid B- pace. On the hills, each does his/her own best effort and we meet at the top — no pressure there. There are spots where faster riders can push ahead.
Before ride, my email is (frchtchr@hotmail.com). Morning of ride, my cell is 631-835-1454. Cancellation for weather posted by 7:30 morning of ride.
This morning it might be nice to take a ride through Bellport and Patchogue stopping for a break at Mickey D’s around mile 20. The average pace will be between 14.0 to 15.0 mph depending on the roads, wind direction, dew point, and other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. Depending on the wind and the route back we might be +/- a mile.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00am if necessary. My cell phone number is 631-484-3490; call or text anytime if you have questions about this ride.
We will be leaving Bank of America and head to Great River and East Islip for a 22 mile ride. The ride will be at a B- pace with an average speed of around 14.5 to 15mph and road speeds that will reach 16 to 18 mph.
Changes or cancelation will be posted by 2:00pm day of ride.
If you have any questions concerning this ride, call Mike at 516 448-8545.
Ride around the Great River and Islip area with a loop in Heckscher Park and a short rest stop at Islip Beach. Cancellation for any reason will be posted by 2PM.
Ride 15-19 miles at an 10.5-11.5 pace until dusk. Wear bright gear and have lights. Newbies always welcome and nobody gets left behind. Park on South side of RR in lot across the street. Daylights burning so wheels down at 6:00. Any cancellation will be by 4:30.
The ride will be shortened by 5 miles so we can make it to the luncheon by 12:00 as Christine has requested. Threatened storms may still cancel the ride. This ride will go along Peconic Bay with its Scenic Views. We will head up to Cutchogue, past farms and vineyards, and stop at a deli in Cutchogue for bathrooms and snacks/coffee. From the deli we head North to the L.I. Sound. We than continue East before turning around and heading back to our parking area. There are several porta-potties on our route both coming and going at parks and marinas. The ride is approximately 40 miles, a threat of rain could shorten or even cancel the ride. High winds could slow our pace. This ride does not include Nassau Point. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for any changes, which will be posted by 06:15am. Before we start our ride I will need to know how many riders will be going to the restaurant so I can phone in the number to Tricia. Each person going to the restaurant will be responsible for their own bill. The club does not reimburse for the food. You need not go to the restaurant to come on the ride. Park at the far end of the main waterfront parking lot. Be prepared to leave at 8:00 sharp, prep your bike the night before, since we want to get to the restaurant so we can eat with the other groups.
Steady paced ride out on the scenic North Fork than join us for lunch at the Sound Bistro. For the ride bring 2 water bottles and snack, for the Sound Bistro bring your wallet. If you'd rather skip lunch; just join us for the ride. Please use the link to put the route on your Garmin/Wahoo or whatever.
Let's ride from the Picnic out to Mattituck on Peconic Bay Boulevard, visit the submarine base at New Suffolk and then cut up to the West Side of Mattituck inlet. The Park there gives a nice view of the inlet and the sound. Pretty water views and you get to see Peconic Bay and Long Island Sound. Multiple opportunities for rest stops. Bring a snack for when we stop at the Mattituck inlet park. This will be a very moderate B- pace. We'll stay as a group, no one gets dropped.
This is a mulit-level ride and you may pick the ride leader/distance/pace you want to do.
My ride is a C+/B- ride, which will average 13.5-13.9, with cue sheets. We will be riding out to Mattituck, where we will take a break at the Deli on Love Lane. Our return will take us through Jamesport, then up around Riverhead, and then possibly ride past the Buffalo on our way back to the ride start.
If you wish, some riders are going to the Sound Bistro (formerly the Lobster Roll North) on Sound Avenue for lunch following the ride (you pay for your own food and drink). By the start of the ride we need to know how many people are planning to go to the restaurant, so they can set aside enough seating space.
Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for any changes, which would be posted by 7:15 am.
Since this is being posted 3 months in advance, check back closer to the ride date for any changes. We will ride from Riverhead to Briermere for a short break. Many of us will go to lunch after the ride at the Sound Bistro on Sound Avenue following the ride. You can still ride if you don't want to join us for lunch. We will need a head count prior to leaving for the ride if you are coming to eat (food cost is paid by each rider). Stop at a bathroom before getting to the ride start as there is not usually one available.
This is a mulit-level ride and you may pick the ride leader/distance/pace you want to do.
My ride is a C, which will average 10.5-11.3. As always, newbies well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. Stop at a bathroom before getting to the ride start as there is not usually one available.

This ride is to get you nice and hungry for lunch at the Sound Bistro after the ride. If you don't have time for lunch and can do the ride thats fine too! We will be heading east and looping around back to Riverhead.
We will be leaving Bank of American in East Islip heading to Great River and East Islip area. Please bring your snacks and drinks for this ride. Any questions call Mike at 516 448-8545
This is a B- ride with an average speed of 14.5 to 15mph, road speeds may reach 17-18mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 2:00pm day of ride.
We have been thinking of having a moderately paced ride where we help with cycling technique. We won't focus on anything specific during these rides but instead will work on issues that individuals are having. Maybe its how long of a pull to take, which direction to pull off, when to let someone into the paceline, when to point things out on the road, when to turn left if your in the front and you have 20 riders behind you, ect....ect....ect.
We hope to keep the group small so it would be nice if you would call the shop and let us know you are coming.
Easy C+ ride no one left behind if temperature is hot the pace will be slower rest stop at Westhampton Bakery Questions call cell 631-484-1650 before 7pm or after 7am.
This ride is now going from Port Jefferson Station to Poquott, Strong's Neck, Old Field and West Meadow...the tradtitional "Roller Coaster" route in between it all. Note: I have reclassified the pace to B- (14-14.7).
Meet at the eastern end of the parking lot (bagel shop side vs. bank side). There used to be a clothing donation bin near Rt. 347 as a meeting marker but its gone now. So use your judgement when you arrive and I'll find you! I'll be riding from home and will be there @8:45am.
________________________________
8/7 4pm: Ominous dark clouds, gusty wind and current radar of what is coming this way means that the ride tonight is a "no-go". But I will be riding in the morning - 9am out of Port Jefferson Home goods. Will update the ride and details later. Note for next week: I will post, but daylight is shifting and the ride start will be at 5:45pm, so please plan accordingly.
8/7 a.m. update: weather looking pretty unsettled again this Wednesday (sigh...). I'll monitor later this afternoon and make a decision by 4:30pm, so check back here then.
Please note: If the ride is a no-go tonight, I'll move it to tomorrow morning from PJ Station/Home Goods. Will be a bit more mileage and likely start at 9am., but will post details later if need be.

Join us as we travel scenic backroads thru the Stony Brook-Setauket area: historic places, great views, great sunsets, great folks. We are a diverse group out for an enjoyable ride and fun nite.
The ride classification takes into account the rolling/hill route, often finishing around 12.7-13.4. There are wait ups after climbs and places to stretch your legs ahead... but please note this is not a "race ride". Dinner afterwards for those interested.
Check ride calendar for any changes or cancellations by 5pm the day of ride.
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to Smith’s Point. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there. The route on the way back may change depending on the wind.

We will be leaving Hermann Griem Park and heading to one of our Wednesday destinations. The ride will be at a B pace with an average speed of around 15 to 16mph and road speeds that will reach 16 to 18 mph depending on winds and road conditions. Mileage may vary plus or minus a few miles depending on the group and daylight conditions. Please pack hydration and snacks.
ATTENTION PLEASE: There is a new format to the Kreb Ride. We are in trial basis. Rather than have Kreb, and also Kreb Tag Along...now we just have the Kreb A- Ride (19-20 avg) but with two ride leaders: Chris Joinnides, and myself. This week, we have the newly-launched 50 mile route, which will keep us off of the dreaded “big roads.” ;-)
We do scheduled wait-ups (and as necessary), in addition to one brief rest stop at mile 28 (the gas station on Edwards Ave/Rte. 24, with mini-mart and restroom).
Please park your car in the Bellport Municipal Parking Lot located at Bellport Lane & Bell Street, and then ride bike half a block over to the Kreb Bike Shop parking lot at 10 Bell Street, to sign-in for ride and hear the pre-ride briefing.
We will start out with the Kreb's riders but will modify the route to decrease the distance and should finish around the same time. We should finish in the high 17s to low 18s.
Park in the lot across from Kreb Cycle. Easy meander to Patchogue. Bring a snack and drink as there is only a short stop. Check back for any changes which would be posted by 7 am.
It's time for a Century! Riding out to beautiful Orient State Pk. We will stop to S T R E C H replenish & refuel every 25 to 30 miles or as need be. Lunch break TBD, most likely Greenport unless someone has a new suggestion. We will head out Sound Ave. after the intersection of Wildwood St. Pk.. In the early morning hours I have found it to be ok. On the return avoid it as much as possible due to traffic. Exact route TBD. This is B B+ pace ride. We are not racing here, rather enjoying the Journey & each other. My cell 631 922-0632. Park by TJMax side lot off Canal Rd. The bathroom across the street in the bagel shop is available. Please arrive early & ready to roll 7:30. Tag alongs or meet ups welcome at different paces & locations like Andrea Miller did last year. That was fun! Rain date is Tomorrow Sunday. Update...One member is meeting us at Briermiere Farms at 8:10 (ETA) am to jump on board the ride, you are welcome as well...
We will be going out to Great River area where we will take a quick break at the Great River Deli before heading back to the Park.
This is a B/B+ a ride with an average pace between 16 to 17 mph+/-, depending on the road conditions and wind direction. The road speed will be between 18 and 20 mph.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations, which will be posted no later than 6:30 am if necessary. My cell number is 347-677-4164; call or text anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start location.
Hilly ride so class is based on effort not speed. There are lots of turns so please download the route posted below. Please bring hydration and nutrition, there are no supported stops. Bathroom break at Cedar Beach and return to start. We will try to do the hills smoothly and stay together, waitups as required. Soul Brew after the ride.
Off to Briermere's with a possible viewing of Bison, if they are in the corral near our route. If you want to share a pie, bring singles and quarters. Briermere has a variety of baked goods, coffee/tea and fruit slushies. Real bathrooms are available. The lot where we are parked has 5 porta potties. We will be parked towards the far left of the lot, the furthest area away from the baseball fields. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 06:30am.
Hopefully we will treated to a Buffalo sighting today. We were lucky last time to see the whole herd! We will be going out to Briemere for a quick stop and then head back.. I might change this to 9 to give more time to get out there so check back the day before the ride.
I was alerted (thanks Tom) to Sayville's SUMMERFEST this weekend and, since a number of activities are happening on Saturday, I have changed the ride a little.
We are now starting from the Holbrook Country Club and will go around Ronkonkoma and Bohemia, with a short trip to the outskirts of Sayville, and then back up to Holbrook and the ride start. The actual direction may be determined by the wind, but we will take our break at the Gourmet Bagel Co. on Lakeland Ave., where beverages, food, and a bathroom are available.
This will be a structured C+ ride which will average 12.5 - 12.9.
NOTE: bathrooms are available inside the building at the ride start.
Well this time we're going to head out to Briermere Farms, through the fields along the nice and easy north route. Then we'll head south down to Route 24, that borders the river, where we'll have some winds and rolling terrain to paceline through...
About that north route, it always seems like no one likes to take it easy, they always like it nice and rough. But lets take the songs advice and take the first part easy, since the winds will make the return nice and rough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzQnPz6TpGc
8/9/2019: The tuna tournament is a "go" so be prepared for a longer than ususal break at the docks, we'll take quick water breaks along the way. This mileage has been increased from 28 to 30 miles. Bike lock is suggested in case you don’t feel like walking it around at the docks.
8/7/2019: Since I was provided with useful information letting me know that the Sayville Summerfest is taking place and rather than trying to dodge alot of activity throughout the town, I decided to change the entire direction of this route and head to Babylon instead. I still need to confirm that the Tuna Tournament is taking place, if it is, then we will take a longer break to attend the tournament. It's a very nice event where they have vendors and plenty of good food to eat (i.e. sausage and peppers). This event gets crowded so we'll have to walk our bikes at the docks. Please anticipate that there will be added mileage to this ride than originally posted. I'll fine tune it, so please be sure to check back.... :)
So air up those tires, fill up those water bottles, grab your helmet and gear...get ready to ride on what I hope will be a beautiful summer morning...
No go in the rain...
All changes/cancellations and responses to questions will be posted here :)
Easy C+ ride no one left behind if temperature is hot the pace will be slower rest stop at Briermere Questions call cell 631-484-1650 before 7pm or after 7am.

The average pace will be between 14.5 and 15.0 mph. +/- depending on the wind, road conditions, geese, ducks, squirrels, rabbits and that stray goat you see every once in a while. Road speed will be between 15 & 17 mph. There will be a long break-a-way for those who want along Dune Road. Around mile 20 we stop at Tully’s, at 33 we’ll stop at the Beach Bakery for some goodies and a bathroom break before heading back to the start.

This is a B ride with an average pace between 15 to 16 mph+/-, depending on the road conditions and wind direction. The road speed will be between 17 and 19 mph.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations, which will be posted no later than 6:30 am if necessary. My cell number is 347-677-4164; call or text anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start location.
Ride was shortened to 38 miles and we'll leave from Sunshine Mall and go to Grumman Blvd. Since the ride is shorter, I do not have a formal stop for a break so please bring sufficient snacks and fluids. However, if anyone is in need, we can make a stop at the Handy Pantry on Moriches Middle Island Rd (27 miles in).
Sprint section on William Floyd Pkwy heading south to Victory. We will regroup in the lot as you make the turn onto Victory.
Our riding speeds will be between 18-21 mph outside of hills and winds. We will keep the group together and will probably come in on the lower end of the average speed range for A-.
We will roll out and head to Oakdale and head north to the bike path' Then head up to the deli for our food break. Then we will head down to Gardner Park where we could take a bathroom break. From there we will head to Brightwaters and circle the lakes before heading back.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride, if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5 & 15.0 +/- mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.0 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns.
Please DO NOT PARK in the Meat Farms parking lot. Use the west side of the bank if the east side is full. Thanks!
We’ll be making a rest stop around mile 19 at the deli/bakery. The route back will be determined by the wind direction. Good Stuff after the Ride. Not sure what good stuff; it's always a surprise.
Any cancellations due to unforeseeable circumstances, or weather related problems will be posted by 7:30am. If you have any questions about this ride, or the start location, please call or text my cell, 631-484-3490.
Gerry will lead this ride and I'll follow. LOL We'll leave after Bobby's ride leaves. This is a C+ pace from the bank thru Ronkonkoma to the bike path to the bagel shop for our break. Maybe we'll meet Bobby's ride there, if not back at the parking lot. Any changes no later than 8:00am
Rida around Oakdale area at a 10.5-11.5 pace. Bring water, a snack and sunscreen as ride stop is not determined until departure, depending on wind direction and ride leaders disposition. As always newbies more than welcome and well taken care of. Nobody gets dropped and any cancellation will be by 8:30am. If you're nice maybe we'll stop and I'll buy you a bagel.
just wanted to say that our break at Netties will be near the end of the ride so bring a little snack if you need something before then. Mileage will still be 18-20 miles.
Park in the lot south of Wendys by the RR tracks. I'm not sure of the exact route and mileage so I will update it if it's significantly different from 20 miles. Rest stop at Nettie's Bakery (yum!). Always check back for changes which would be posted by 9 am.
Meet up in the Heritage Park parking lot, Mt Sinai, for this very scenic, but hilly, ride to Cedar Beach where we will stop at Ralph's Fishing Station for a break. You can get coffee, egg sandwiches, etc. This is a hilly ride, no doubt. We will wait up at the top of all hills, mostly for the ride leader. Polka Dot Jerseys and billy goats can go ahead on all climbs. Its an early start, we should be back to our cars by 10:30, and beat the heat in the process. Any changes/cancellation will be posted by 6:15 AM. Call my cell if you have any questions.

We all know what this ride is about; burger and a beer $6.00. Tacos $1.00 and half price beer; if you can’t make the ride, stop in and join us for the eats. We will be back around 4pm. Ok, now let’s talk about the ride.
We’ll be going to the Yaphank area, the Patchogue area, or the Holbrook area. It all depends on the riders and the wind. Most riders like the LI Avenue run, so if possible that will be choice one. The average will be about 14.5 to 15 mph+/-naturally the road speed will be higher; between 15.0 and 17.0 with the wind at your back.
Note: the ride starts at Rudi’s. I have spoken with the owner and parking will be allowed on Wednesdays. Please park along the west, east & south sides of the parking lot. DON’TPARK in reserved spaces or, the NORTH side of the parking lot

We will head out to one of our local Wednesday destinations. The day light hours are getting shorter so as result we will be doing shorter routes. The ride will be at a B pace with an average speed of around 15 to 16mph and road speeds that will reach 16 to 18 mph depending on winds and road conditions. Please pack hydration and snacks.
We will be riding from Patchogue to Montauk and taking the LIRR back. Route will be similar to SBRA’s annual Montauk Century ride but starting from Patchogue instead of Babylon. Route is very scenic and we try to avoid big roads whenever possible.
Train departs Montauk at 2:48pm and arrives back in Patchogue at 4:43pm.For those wishing to spend the day in Montauk, the next train leaves Montauk at 10:05pm and arrives Patchogue at 11:52pm.
I suggest riders bring two water bottles, some energy snacks and extra $$ for rest stops/lunch/train fare. We will make hydration/rest stops approximately every 20-25 miles. Depending on when we arrive in Montauk (and what shape we're in when we get there - lol) we can discuss some options (extend ride to lighthouse, sit-down lunch in town, buy deli sandwiches and eat on train, Gosman's Dock, etc.).
Any changes will be posted by 6am.
If you are interested in this ride or have any questions, please let me know by 9pm Wed. FYI - The LIRR has the right to limit the number of bikes they allow on each train so I need to get a rough headcount. Please call or txt my cell (347-922-3824).I’ve done this ride several times and never had a problem with the LIRR, but you never know.
Special note: Riders will need a Bike Permit so you can bring your bike on the train. The permit cost is $5 but it is good for life (unless you lose it) and it can be purchased on the train without a penalty fee. You will also need to purchase a one-way off-peak ticket for the ride home (approx $10) and should be purchased prior to boarding to avoid penalty fee. LIRR ticket machine is located at the station.
Bruce P. keeps asking me to schedule this ride for the "breakfast special" at the deli in Patchogue. The plan is to do a loop between Sayville and Bellport but we'll start in the middle (Patchogue). At the end of the ride I'm planning to stop at Flo's (by Corey Beach) on the way home for one of their famous lobster rolls. Let's give the Bartlets a try again. They offer a bit of a challenge for poor hill climbers like me, but if we push on through this ride a few times we should get stronger. Although, I must say, it hasn't worked for me yet, but I haven't given up trying. Come on out and suffer with me. The pace will be a B- until we hit the hills then it will be at whatever pace you can do and there will be a wait-up for me at the end of the Bartlets. We will take a short break at the golf course. Coffee and rolls are available or bring your own snack. Cancelations or changes will be posted by 7:30 am.
Nice and easy down the path. Wewill stop at the deli by the dockd for a snack an eaet them at the docks. Bathrooms are open at the docks and in Belmont. The park has been closed to the storm last night
Tour of Nissequogue, Head of the Harbor, Stony Brook, Old Field, Port Jefferson and Belle Terre.
This is a long, hilly ride, with 3,000 feet of climbing.
Lunch stop at the bakery in Port Jeff, just before we climb East Broadway.
Pace will be a B/B+ effort, actual ride average will be much lower due to the hill climbs. Group will stay together, with wait-ups as needed on the climbs, mostly for the ride leader.
Any ride changes will be posted by 6 am the morning of the ride.
We are heading to the scenic North shore, stopping in Bayville for a break.
This is a B/B+ ride with an average pace between 16 to 17 mph +/-, depending on the road conditions, wind direction or how the group is feeling. No one gets drop. The road speed will be between 18 to 20mph.
Please check the ride calendar for any last minute changes or cancellation, which will be posted by 6:00am if necessary .
final route will be posted soon. Start at the Municipal parking lot in Jamesport we'll bike out on the North Fork to Greenport and ferry to Shelter Island. Cross Shelter Island and take the South Ferry to the South Fork and return through Riverhead. Bring money for the ferrys and if you want lunch at Main Road Biscuit after the ride.
Heading out with Dan's group and sending them off on the ferry. We will make a quick stop and head back more at a B+ pace. I am not ready for 60 but would like to do part of Dan's ride and head back.
Come join me for a nice B- ride to Bellport Docks, I am going to keep this ride at a B- group ride. Lots of folks avoid East Setauket as it has a good deal of technical and hilly sections BUT there are also milder single track sections that many riders can handle when keeping the speed down. Come along and I will be more than willing to wait if you want to walk any section that you feel is above you pay grade!
Lots of the trail is pretty wide and ticks should not be a problem unless you dive into the bush ... Also, I will have bug spray available before the ride.
For faster and more skilled riders please look at the ride level ... you will be out ahead of the group I lead that will go at the slowest rider's pace. No one will be left behind in the woods!
Check back to this posting early Sunday morning ... as Life Happens and Things Change.
This will be an easy-going B+/A- ride. Cruise between 18-21mph and can adjust as needed.
We will be breaking at a new bakery - Nettie's Country Bakery which is on Railroad Ave (mile 32). They sell water, coffee and teas as well as pastries, donuts, etc. Feel free to check out their website (https://www.nettiescountrybakery.com/). We will also take a quick water break at the light on 51 (mile 22) (the light were we usually "wait at the top"). Additional stops/breaks as needed.
Sprint section on 111 but we will regroup at Halsey Manor Rd so we make the left onto Chapman together.
Thanks!

This will be a SLOW B/B+ @16 ... with the wind and yesterday's Mtn Bike ride. Sorry ...
Mostly flat along Whiskey Road and some grades along the way ... stop at McBreak in Wading River at 15 mile mark ... one hill at the end to empty yourself of remaining energy. Choice of extending ride ~ 6miles on Greenway Bike Path to Setauket and back.
Check back to this posting early Monday morning ... as the weather may be a factor and regardless Life Happens and Things Change.
A steady 21-ish mph on the usual route: Veterans Memoral Park to William Floyd, around the jets, through Grumman, Mill, brief stop at the gas station, 24/51/111 and home. And if that doesen't make sense, see the map below. I hope to see you.
Ride Sayville to Bellport via Sayville and Patchogue waterfronts. Note the earlier 5:00 PM start time. Water Break at the Bellport Dock. Lights are a good idea. Moderate to Brisk B- pace. Leave at 5 pm sharp.
A flat ride to places of historical interest around Smith's Point. The Manor of St George offers a breath taking view of Bellport Bay. We will visit the Beach at Smith's Point and then the William Floyd mansion. The original building at the Manor of St George was built before 1700. William Floyd was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and parts of the mansion were built in the very early eighteenth century. This will be a very moderately paced ride with no one left behind. Bring Snacks for breaks at the beach and at the William Floyd Mansion. The driveway to the Manor of St George is graveled in some sections so a hybrid bike is nice although I have biked the driveway on a skinny tired bike with no trouble.
Sorry all that were planning to do this ride, I need to cancel this due to a slight injury. I hope to repost this again soon.
Update to parking: Cedar Creek does not charge for parking Monday - Friday so that's where you'll find me! Look for me in parking field 1 or 2 after entering the park. If you don't see me right away, we'll all meet up at the entrance to the bike path as stated below.
I decreased the mileage on this post since I’m not sure if we’ll be able to get the entire ride in before the sunset...we’ll see how it goes...Please make sure to have lights on your bike.
I'm not sure when the park stops charging, so I'll update the post once I find out. Last time I checked there was a $10 parking fee, if you decide to park there, let's all meet by the memorial statue of Matt, the young bike rider located close to the bike trail entrance. An address to GPS is the Jones Beach Hotel located at 3275 Byron Street, Wantagh I've been informed this area has plenty of parking.
I'll be riding my hybrid so if you have one, feel free to take it out, if not, a road bike is perfect too. We'll be going from end to end, anticipate some wind off the water which may slow down our pace, as well as it being a shared bike path with other riders, runners and rollerbladers.
It's a beautiful ride on a summer evening so I hope you can join me.
Tour of the north shore: Nissequogue, Head of the Harbor, Stony Brook, Port Jefferson, and Belle Terre. We’ll stick to the very quiet and scenic back roads.
Lunch in Port Jeff after we return from Belle Terre.
This ride is hilly, with about 3,500 feet of climbing, including a few steeper climbs.
Pace will be a moderate B/B+ effort, wait-ups as needed on the hills, and the actual end-of-ride average wil reflect the slower pace on the hills.

**Start Location change to Hampton Bays- King Kullen. This ride will be lead by John Mueller**

We will circle around Sayville, then meander toward Blue Point, where we will make a bathroom stop at Corey Beach before taking our break at the deli around the corner.
Someone told me about another great bakery in Center Moriches. That’s all they had to say for me to create a route there. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5 & 15.0 +/- mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.0 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns. There will be a break-a-way or two for those who want to go, or you can hang back with me.
Any cancellations due to unforeseeable circumstances, or weather related problems will be posted by 7:30am. If you have any questions about this ride, or the start location, please call or text my cell, 631-484-3490.
