Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 12.1 - 12.8, no one gets dropped, and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. We will loop around part of lower Stony Brook, then go around St. James. We will take our break at the St. James Bagel Shop (food, beverages, and bathroom available). Route to be determined the morning of the ride, so no cue sheets.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you must text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact Phone Number if you want to ride, I will return the text: YES, you have a spot; NO, ride is filled. CELL #: 631-523-2129.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start to "get yourself" ready.
Off to Briermere's, with a quick stop to view the Bison, if they are in a field near the road, Briermere's has indoor restrooms and outdoor picnic tables. If you want to share a pie, and we have enough riders who are interested in sharing, bring money (small bills please). Briermere's also has individually sized baked treats, as well as hot and cold drinks. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036, with your full name and date of ride. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:00am.
We will be doing a route to Patchogue. Think Woodside Ave, East direction only. I would like to come in between 14.2and 14.9 mph., +/- a tad. In order to get this average road speeds will be between 14.5 and 16 mph. Expect down hills to be faster. Things could change slightly due to the road conditions and the wind. Around Mile 16 we will stop at McDonalds to refuel. Help in pulling the ride would be appreciated, but not required.
If you have any questions or concerns, please text me at 631.484.3490. Should there be a cancellation or change, it will be posted by 7:30am.
If I don't hear from anyone, I'll leave from home, so please text if you are joining me at 631-835-1454.
I can't get out earlier, but I think weather will be okay.
The usual ride to Old Field lighthouse. Bring your snack. No bathroom stop. New hill riders welcome. Any changes or cancellation posted by 8:30 morning of ride.
We will be leaving The Wharf and head to Blue Piont/Corey Beach for a 23 mile ride. The ride will be at a B- pace with an average speed of around 14.5 to 15 mph and road speeds that will reach 16 to 18 mph.
